It's the media's job to repeat whatever negative talking point about Donald Trump that Democrats are pushing that week. Then, when it turns out Trump's agenda is working after all, they act like it's "surprising" and move on to the text talking point. Remember when Trump's tariffs were going to send America into a recession, as reported on CNN? CNN's Scott Jennings remembers, and now that America has seen GROWTH, he's making the "experts" eat their words. A recession is when America sees two consecutive quarters of negative growth. Unless it happens under a Democrat president like during the People Who Controlled Joe Biden administration. Then the definition of "recession" gets redefined by the left and the media (but I repeat myself). They also tried to change the definition of "definition." Besides inflation going down and jobs going up, America saw 3% GROWTH in the last quarter. That's 3.1 % more than the negative growth the "experts" claimed we'd see. Jennings wants to know where all these experts are now. Months ago, I sat on television and listened to nearly EVERYONE predict the "Trump recession" was imminent. Then Jennings did something I've been dying to see be done for years. He provides receipts. Actual receipts. Like, quotes from every time his CNN "peers' cried recession and when they said it. Oh, I heard a lot about “the R word” … and today we have 3% GDP growth. Go figure. pic.twitter.com/28gnzxFXRi If I've been at this long enough to know CNN will never report accurately on anything any Republican does, especially when those things, while great for America, are bad for progressive ideology. That's fine fewer and fewer peoplke get their news from CNN anyway. It's still fun watching them get owned like this. It's also amusing how anything that's good for America seems to be bad for the journalisming industrial complex. ><><><><><><Brodigan is Grand Poobah of this here website and when he isn't writing words about things enjoys day drinking, pro-wrestling, and country music. Justine Bateman played Mallory on the 80s hit Family Ties, which was a cornerstone of the last Republican renaissance during the Reagan years (her brother Alex P. Keaton -- played by Michael J. Fox -- was America's favorite young Republican). The actress and producer has been drawing on her over 40 years of filmmaking expertise this week to help people with their anti-Sydney Sweeney social media meltdowns videos. Yes, people are still melting down because too many of the "wrong people," like Sydney Sweeney, think she fills out a pair of jeans nicely. Though, probably more importantly, it fills out whatever top she is wearing nicely. As reported by The Atlantic, it is a conservative first principle that it is okay to like boobs in America.
Bateman is here to offer constructive criticism. The most common one is when these AWFL TikTokers do a split screen with Sweeney while they look like... well, how they usually look like. "Ms. Sweeney’s facial expression is one of satisfaction and pleasure. This gives a continuous impression that neither the actress, nor the points she’s making in the dialogue, are not being taken seriously by Ms. Sweeney, nor by the audience."
Pro-tip from Bateman: If you are going to make a "hostage video," you have to make the threat easy for people to understand. This content creator, claiming to be a pilates instructor, drops pilates terms as if they are universally understood to the point someone would understand how tortured they would be if they like Sydney Sweeney and take this specimen's pilates class. Also, and this part is key... we're to believe this person teaches pilates?
This one is just... wow.
The main thing that appears to get in Bateman's craw is that, if you are going to do an on-location shoot to have a social media meltdown video, you have to put in the slightest bit of prep work. Like, blocking your scenes, remembering your lines, and knowing the name of the actress you are supposedly outraged over.
While Alyssa Milano has broken many GenX hearts with the way she has gone batsh*t crazy, it is nice to know not all of our 80s crushes have lost their marbles. I'd look up to see which way Soleil Moon Frye swings to split the difference, but I don't have the strength. Let's hope future AWFL content creators take Justine Bateman's advice to heart. We deserve a better internet. ><><><><><><Brodigan is Grand Poobah of this here website and when he isn't writing words about things enjoys day drinking, pro-wrestling, and country music. Sydney Sweeney is no stranger to internet outrage. While she is guilty this week of the crime of having too many right-leaning people think she's hot and looks good in denim, three years ago it was the "MAGA Party" she threw for her mom's 60th birthday. Spoiler, it wasn't a MAGA Party. But lefties on the internet were emotional, so the media took them seriously. A far cry from this week, as the actress is being blamed for the conservative belief that it's ok to like boobs.
In 2022, the actress threw her mom a 60th birthday party and shared photos on her Instagram account because, "Hey, I just threw my mom a birthday party. Check out my family." There were two photos that caused Twitter users to bang their fingers on keyboards. There's this one, where people are wearing obvious parody hats that say "Make Sixty Great Again." As we have seen when leftists assault people for their choice of headwear, any parody of the popular MAGA hat is considered no bueno.
The other photo is of a guy who woke up and pulled a t-shirt from his drawer when he got dressed that morning. That t-shirt has the Blue Lives Matter flag on it. It symbolizes the support of law enforcement, particularly those who lost their lives in the line of duty. Leftists who hate cops (like The Zohran) and support them losing their lives project their hatred on the shirt and call it a symbol of hate.
Sweeney was shocked by the outrage and attacks, and issued the following statement: "You guys this is wild. An innocent celebration for my moms [sic] milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone and Happy Birthday Mom." You guys this is wild. An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone ♥️ and Happy Birthday Mom! The left attacked her more anyway. The actress should have known better that so many people were easily triggered over hats and t-shirts and families having fun together. "Then you should've selected other pictures to post that wouldn't be left up to interpretation in this manner," cried one user that has since deleted their account. Another deleted added, "Girl, they were wearing MAGA hats and blue lives matter T-shirts, you can NOT be serious." The haters also claimed Sweeney was at fault for not — intentionally or unintentionally — policing what shirts people wore. According to yet another former Twitter user, "Maybe don't post photos of people with the blue stripe and the MAGA hats if you don't want people calling u out. Or deal with it." Or worse, that Sydney Sweeney supports making sixty great again and/or law enforcement herself. People assume she supports those things Sweeney never apologized, even as the media pestered her for a year trying to get her to. Now, do I think she and I voted for the same people? No, of course not. But the fact that she didn't let herself get bullied into a PR concocted apology is a good sign, AND it shows she knows what to expect from the media, because you know journalismers are not going to let this go. ><><><><><><Brodigan is Grand Poobah of this here website and when he isn't writing words about things enjoys day drinking, pro-wrestling, and country music. While The Zohran was getting married in a Uganada compound surrounded by armed guards paid for by his uber-wealthy parents, a gunman killed a police officer and others in the city he his looking to be mayor of. The Zohran said he felt bad for the NYPD, but like most Democrats, particularly NYC Democrats, he has a back catalog of vile, anti-cop rhetoric. Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul was challenged on it, and she answered stupidly. Well, she wasn't challenged on it as much as she was asked to respond to Rep. Elise Stefanik, her probable 2026 opponent, pointing out how much The Zoharan hates cops. Hochul called the attacks pathetic because he only made those comments in 2020 when everyone in her party were virtue signalling about how much they hated cops. Seriously. That was her excuse. "That's about as pathetic as it gets. I mean, seriously, going after an unelected official who said something back in 2020 when many people were—I mean, come on, give me a break."
Yes. It's pathetic to hold elected officials responsible for the words that come out of their mouth.
Something else happened in 2020. The Zohran was elected by New York Democrats to the Assembly. The same New York Democrats who elected Kathy Hochul Lt. Governor. To recap some of The Zohran's anti-NYPD rhetoric as he looks to become the mayor of the city that would be in charge of the NYPD:
Instead of focusing on The Zohran anti-NYPD hate before him being elected mayor of New York City, Hochul said the focus should be on "assault" weapons that are already banned in New York City. Which, until Democrats start to be intellectually honest about wanting to ban all guns -- except for the ones used to guard The Zohran's Ugundan Compound -- it's not worth the bandwidth every time they put the word "assault" in front of a weapon to make it sound scary. Democrats are more unpopular than they've ever been, and a key reason why if because of how far they've gone to the insane left. Kathy Hochul's soultion to that is to pretend the internet isn't forever. ><><><><><><Brodigan is Grand Poobah of this here website and when he isn't writing words about things enjoys day drinking, pro-wrestling, and country music. Live by social media, die by social media. That's what fitness influencer Joey Swoll learned this week when, like most of us who grew up in the 80s, remembered the Hulk Hogan parts of our childhood fondly more than we did him saying the no-no word in a sex tape. Swoll learned a valuable lesson this week about trying to appease alligators. Before we move forward, a reminder about Internet trolls...
I'm a fan of Swoll's content. The internet is lousy with people shaming others in the gym for social media clout, so he shames the shamers. He provides a valuable service. And, like most of America, upon hearing Hulk Hogan had passed away, remembered being a Hulkamaniac and shared a photo of him dressed like Hulk Hogan. A rational, well-adjusted person, even if they didn't like Hulk Hogan, wouldn't be bothered by it. Haters and losers went after Swoll.
Because Swoll didn't know every bad thing Hulk Hogan has ever said in 72 years, that made the influencer as bad as Hulk Hogan. Joey was called an -ist and accused of -ism. Then he made the mistake so many others have made in the past. Instead of focusing on all the people who celebrated his post, he bent the knee with a groveling apology to the woke mob, using the same tired clichés about "better educating" himself. This is where the lesson about appeasing crocodiles comes in, because it's never enough. The woke mob doubled down on the hate. So now Swoll is quitting social media. All the good I've done, all the people I've helped, all for nothing. I truly hope all the people I've inspired do great things in their life and pay it forward to help others and carry on my message. But no matter how much good you do, people just wait for a reason to hate you… I feel for Swoll somewhat, because when you are used to praise, the sudden hate can be jarring. In a follow-up post where he admitted to just licking his wounds for a bit, shared details about the people attacking him over saying a nice thing of Hulk Hogan, "They sent messages telling me they know where I live and they were going to unalive me. Then they went after my gf, my business partner, and they found my sister’s number and text messaged her!" You and I know that's how the woke mob operates. We're in that political world. If you aren't, I can get reacting like this. I just hope it is a teachable moment. Because when you bend the knee to the woke mob who doesn't support your work in the first place, what you're saying to the majority of your fans who is that they are the ones in the wrong. We need to normalize telling social media to shut the f*ck up once in a while. ><><><><><><Brodigan is Grand Poobah of this here website and when he isn't writing words about things enjoys day drinking, pro-wrestling, and country music. It's not that everyone hates women's sports. It's that the most prominent professional example, the WNBA, is a silly organization full of ridiculous people doing silly things. Exhibit Q of this involves a player losing her wig and the referee throwing out a fan for laughing about it. No, seriously. This is a thing that happened. And I'm not one of the people who think women's sports can't be successful. The problem is, up until now, none the people involved in women's sports or who report on women's sports have been concerned with selling tickets, selling merch, filling arenas, appealing to a broader range of fans, or growing the sport in any measurable way. Not as much as they care about virtue signalling. Not that there isn't the occasional bright spot...
But outside of the Cailtyn Clark Extended Universe, you have... everything else. Last night, Phoenix Mercury guard Kahleah Copper had her wig pulled off and needed a timeout to run off the court for some reason. I'm not quite sure why the lack of a wig prevented her from playing. Michael Jordan played with the flu. But, for whatever reason, a time-out was called for this laughable reason. And you and I reading this weren't the only ones laughing. A fan in the crowd laughed about it and made fun of her. So her teammates had the ref eject him from the game. They called security and everything. All over a fan making fun of a player. Yes, in professional sports. The moment was out of the ordinary and while most in attendance did not make a spectacle of it, one fan apparently mocked the situation. Copper’s teammates had gathered around officials pointing out the offender. “They made fun of her for the situation on the floor,” the refs and officials can be heard saying to each other and arena security confronted the man and escorted him out.
If women's sports want to be taken seriously, maybe women's sports should start taking women's sports seriously. Just a suggestion. ><><><><><><Brodigan is Grand Poobah of this here website and when he isn't writing words about things enjoys day drinking, pro-wrestling, and country music.
