UPDATED:
Isaac Caviness of Green The Vote-OK has announced that his group's two initiative petitions for Cannabis law reforms are closing in on the constitutional amendments. SQ796 has about 94,000 signatures of the 123,000 needed to change Medical Marijuana to a constitutional amendment. SQ 797 has surpassed 104,000 signatures enroute to the 123,000 they need to present a constitutional amendment, removing the state's prohibition on adult cannabis usage. Cavaness says his volunteers are seeking a cushion of 25,000 extra signatures before they submit their forms back to the secretary of state. If these matters are resolved prior to Sept. 1st, the two questions will meet the deadline for inclusion on the Nov. 6th general election ballot. But Gov. Mary Fallin could use her dictatorial powers once again, to stop the vote from occuring. It is exactly that type of sabotage bythe State Board of Health which has given passionate motivation to the constitutional amendment initiative. |
Political analysts predict that if bad faith is suspected by govt. officials to keep SQ797 stalled, the Democrat party may greatly benefit, due to the widespread outrage toward Gov. Fallin.
