The Oklahoma Democrat Party is seeking an electoral takeover of most of Oklahoma City metro. In key races, they are spending far more money than the Republicans. One of the state's most expensive campaign battlefields is House District 87, a northwest Oklahoma City seat where the Republican and Democratic candidates have raised a combined $240,000. While currently in Republican control, the seat is one of a few that Democrats are hopeful can be flipped in Oklahoma City's transitioning urban communities.
