Is a rapist to be called an "Undocumented Lover"? Is a burglar to be called an "Undocumented House Guest"? Well, not yet. But folks who sneak into a nation are somehow elevated to the status of "Undocumented Residents".
The hyphenation craze has been going on for over 30 years. Somehow the spanish original term for the very dark-pigmented people of especially Africa, became taboo. Negro became a banned word. In the latter 70's even "Black" was seen as offensive to the goals of certain political views. They started utilizing the term "African-American".
This political correctness madness now ties liberal journalists in knots. When a black man in London attacked a British soldier, he was described as a "British African-American". Never mind that the machete'-wielding Muslim was a native of Ethiopia. The journalist had lost the ability to think and speak. She was following the mandated protocols of her news outlet. Somehow America was attached to the identity of the decapitating monster.
Now the news outlets are elevating certain religions above others. I have never heard of the media term; "Christian American"; but now there are the propaganda goals of Muslims to be concerned with.
Does CNN really want to proselytize the nation to Islam? No, but they hate evangelical Christianity more, so they tolerate Islam. They celebrate any attempt to magnify the image of anything which is in opposition to evangelical Christian teaching. Liberal media is perhaps the most hateful institution in the nation. Sadly, some Libertarians are caught up in this war on Christianity and have lost sight of the libertarian values they historically have championed.
