It was a clear black night with a clear white moon when mother/daughter duo Carol Garnier and Mary Dao were closing up their restaurant. That's when an all too familiar scene in small businesses took place. Some schmuck came wandering in to steal from them. Before he had a chance, Grainer and Dao went into beast mode and fought him off with a table. Even better, it was all captured on video.
If you guessed that this incident probably happened in Los Angeles, you're wrong. You're also close. It was a suburb of Los Angeles.
The man is believed to be a transient. That's newspeak for "homeless man." Once the homeless became a constituency of the Democratic Party, they needed to be called something else.
Dao echoed a sentiment we've been hearing a lot when people in the liability column feel entitled to take from those of us in the asset column: "I was ready to get down and use my hands if I needed to. We've been working hard making food all day and that belonged to somebody. They paid for that and you just can't come in here and take what's not yours."
And yet, people in progressive California feel entitled to take what's not theirs. Craig Cope had an attempted robbery occur at his California liquor store before he blew the guy's arm off in self-defense. His advice is that more people need to vote and vote the right way. ADVICE: Not for the same failed leaders Californians usually vote for. "There's a whole lotta people out there, they got no clue what it's like to try to run a small business."
Police say they recognize the homeless transient and are looking for him. I'm guessing not to arrest him or anything. At best, they'll tell him, "Hey, stop doing that," then take him to his shanty town duplex.
