It happened again, Friday. A former US soldier and veteran of the Iraq war, just shot up an airport in Florida. This man was severely ill and had a track record of dilusional behavior. But did the Veterans Administration take care of him? No! Veterans in the US now commit suicide at a rate of 3 per hour. And some others, like this man, become homicidal. Only government can screw up human safety to this level. You'd think they'd have figured it out by now; either that or they really have other reasons for humiliating good citizens and disrupting transportation commerce. Some bright minds in Washington almost seem to be saying; "Hey, let's create a bottleneck where mass murders can happen! Metal detectors at checkpoints are fabulous ways to get masses of unarmed people to huddle up where we can let terrorists all know that a target-rich environment is waiting for them! " What a government!! I can't say that his military service contributed to his illness, but the promise of veterans healthcare was not realized for him and several are now dead. |
On Rep. John Bennett, she says; “Oh, I’ll pick a fight with him. We need to muffle his megaphone. And how the hell does he keep getting re-elected? Let’s start there.”
In Jefferson's day, state governments were far more powerful than the Federal experiment which he and Madison would eventually take turns leading.
The common sentiment of all of our young American States was that we should not be guilty of creating a federal entity which might one day be as oppressive as the British oppressors we shed blood and spent wealth to defeat. The reality of our present day is that our own forefathers would be sickened to see what now exists in their name.
As we watch the monstrosity known as "ObamaCare" take it's dying breath, Two alternative plans are being studied. One of them is the brain child of Doctor Tom Coburn, Oklahoma's former US Senator. He teams up with Senators Richard Burr and Orrin Hatch to keep the initiative going in the form of The Patient C.A.R.E. Act. the other comes from the Foundation on research for Equal Opportunity. It's plan is described in the publication; "Transcending ObamaCare".
We've loaded the publication links below, for our readers to study and advocate for, as warranted.
Oklahoma AG, Scott Pruitt, has sued the Administration for breaking various federal statutes in the roll out of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare). Perhaps Pruitt & other state AGs should finally sue the Federal Government for outright consumer fraud, for not delivering on the promises made by the architects.
There's a game of 'cat & mouse' going on at the Oklahoma state capitol. Rep. Dan Kirby seems to be ducking anyone whom he doesn't have scheduled business with. He defiantly claims that the allegations leveled against him, and covered up by former Speaker Hickman, are nothing. But much of his Legislative Assistant's efforts today were taken up in the task of playing the 'lookout' role, to help him avoid any media interaction. The House leadership decided to seat him for his new term in the 56th Oklahoma Legislature. He continues to hold the seat from Eastern Tulsa County. Old timers are trying to figure out when the last time was that a legislator was so focused on sneaking in & out of the seat of government and refusing to grant media appointments. We have no idea when or how he is going to discuss the case of the woman who got fired after complaining of being sexually harrassed in the seat of Oklahoma government. Evidently Jeff Hickman is helping matters much. There's been little expanation from him about why he felt compelled to fire a woman for no stated reason, just weeks after his leadership staff assured her that she would not endure such retribution for complaining about a fellow Republican. Many Democrats wonder if Speaker Hickman would have gone to such lengths if they had been implicated. News9 has a full report of the attempt to talk to Dan Kirby.
The study must be taken at face value. No causal link is established, yet. It could just as well be said that subtle symptoms of mental instability may be causing the sufferer to turn to recreational drugs. the authors even say as much: "They add that as the study is a cohort study it is not possible to determine whether alcohol or substance abuse actually causes the increased risk of schizophrenia. It is possible that people who are likely to develop schizophrenia are then more likely to abuse substances, and/or that people could be susceptible to both substance abuse and developing schizophrenia. The authors' analysis of the data suggest all these explanations are possible, and they conclude the relationship between schizophrenia and substance abuse is highly complex."
