The Tulsa Area Republican Assembly held their Endorsement Convention tonight and returned some select endorsements in key Republican primaries.

Scott McEachin gained a unanimous vote of support of the convention. Scott is known and respected among conservative politics for his steadfast support of constitutional law. As a Tulsa lawyer, he is seen as well prepared for the open house seat.

Chuck Strohm has gained high marks in his 2 years of political service to the Jenks area district. The convention voted unanimously in favor of his endorsement.

The TARA convention chose not to endorse in other area Republican primaries.

The Primary election will be held next Tuesday, but early voting is open this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, at each county. In Tulsa County voters can go to the downtown Tulsa Election board office, or at Hardesty Regional Library, near 97th & Memorial Drive. (Thurs-Fri 9-6, Sat 9-2)

Senator Nathan Dahm received unanimous support in his re-election to the State Senate for District 33.  The vote was unanimous. Nathan's steady support for constitutional issues and fiscal conservatism were echoed by all the convention body.
Amanda Teegarden received a unanimous endorsement in the heavily sought Senate District 39 race. Her grasp of the issues and commitment to conservative solutions were cited by those who spoke in her favor.
Her years in business and government studies were also mentioned as factors leading the convention body to support her candidacy.
In one other contested Republican primary, the TARA convention returned a "No Endorsement" in Senate District 33. One candidate had returned a candidate questionaire (required under the rules).

Tulsa Republican Assembly Endorses Sherman For Sheriff

6/21/2016

With 76% of the vote, the Tulsa Area Republican Assembly has endorsed Luke Sherman for sheriff of Tulsa County.  Sherman was represented at the meeting by a former sheriff candidate, Dan Miller. No one from the Regalado campaign was on hand for the endorsement convention.

Regalado recently won a winner-take-all election to complete the last few months of the vacated term of Stanley Glanz who resigned in disgrace after a grand jury released indictments.

There were 8 candidates in that race, this time Sherman and Regalado face off, with the addition of one other name. Sherman has received numerous endorsements, including 4 of his previous rivals (Miller, Fitzpatrick, Jackson, and Helm).

Noted Mental health advocate, Cathy Costello, also endorse Sherman, today. Her husband, Mark, was a beloved political figure serving as the State Labor Commissioner until his untimely death for which their mentally ill son awaits trial.
Among the many issues facing the Tulsa County Jail, mental health issues are a rising concern. Tulsa County is facing numerous lawsuits over mistreatment of the mentally ill in the county jail. These problems have been exacerbated during the short term of Vic Regalado.

Doing The Job The Sheriff Was Supposed To

6/21/2016

Comments

I just had another visit with the mother of David Fulps. This deeply stressed mother is still seeking the right solution for her suffering son. David is psychotic and harming himself and others because some inept public safety officials have not prepared themselves for the office they hold.

David Fulps
Last month, David Fulps was released from the sheriff's custody because Sheriff Vic Regalado, in all his wisdom, decided David posed no danger to the public. Never mind that David had gone untreated for a month in the jail and Sheriff Regalado never sought to have the judge order the bipolar man into psychiatric evaluation and mandated inpatient treatment until his psychosis was brought back under control.
Regalado reasoned that the delusional man can't harm himself or others because; "He's got multiple serious injuries disabling him". Vic won't release the surveillance tapes of the multiple scuffles in the jail, including a tumble down a flight of stairs.

Cathy Costello Endorses Luke Sherman For Tulsa County Sheriff

June 21, 2016
Sgt. Luke Sherman, GOP Candidate for Tulsa County Sheriff, is proud to announce the endorsement of Cathy Costello, widow of murdered Oklahoma Labor Commissioner, Mark Costello.  Their mentally ill son, Christian Costello, is accused of publicly murdering his father last year.  Since that time, Cathy Costello has become a nationally-recognized advocate for mental illness reform.
"Mental illness is the most serious and important issue facing our state," says Cathy Costello.  "Oklahoma ranks 2nd in the U.S. for persons with a mental illness and 49th in mental health funding. 25% of our population suffers from a treatable condition that our prison system refuses to acknowledge despite the fact that more than 50% of inmates have a history of mental illness."
Costello is endorsing Luke Sherman for Sheriff because of his diverse experience and history of advocating for mental illness reform which is sorely needed in the TCSO.

The "Liberals" Are Not Liberal About Homeschooling

6/21/2016

Comments

With all the great nationwide success in homeschooling, and particularly the mid-western popularity of home and church education options, Liberals are doubling down their efforts to force the next generation to be educated by their statist faculty & fostering system.
The Daily Caller gives us a hint at the battle lines forming around the home-educating family and how to respond.
Picture
That progressive activists are targeting Christian education is no longer news. Christian colleges including Gordon in Massachusetts and King’s in New York have endured ideologically-driven accreditation investigations. Christian groups including InterVarsity have been challenged and sometimes de-recognized on secular campuses. Nor is ideological animus against the transmission of religious ideas limited to higher education alone. Consider the purposiveness with which some progressive standard-bearers now attack, of all things, homeschooling — that is, the practice now adopted by millions of American families for educating children outside of government institutions.

Here as elsewhere in our examination of anti-Christian soldiers, the first salient fact is that progressive activists even have a lockstep position against homeschooling, rather than a diversity of views. Here as elsewhere, diversity is a thin word — whereas the thick reality of intolerance is something very different.

For while “homeschooling” is the ostensible target, what irks today’s activists most is that the majority of homeschooled children are in Christian families. Homeschooling is one more lightning rod for the peculiarly intense hostility radiating from supposedly progressive quadrants.

Americans For Prosperity Is Supporting Fiscal Conservatives In Oklahoma's Legislature

6/20/2016

Comments

Picture
Just 4 weeks ago, Oklahoma's Republican leadership in the legislature were acting like big-spending liberals, and The Democrats played the bizarrely uncharacteristic role of refusing to pass new taxes & fees.  There were perhaps 20 % of each house who were truly faithful to cutting government spending instead of cutting further into Oklahomans' family budgets.
John Tidwell, of AFP's Oklahoma organization quickly sprung into action, partnering with Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs (OCPA) to take on the biggest threats, namely the Oklahoma Chamber's idea to expand Medicaid and set up a state exchange for free healthcare.  The effort succeeded, partly due to the Democrat strategy of refusing any tax increases without FIRST passing the expansion of ObamaCare in Oklahoma.
And now AFP is seeking to gain political ground by supporting legislative allies who stood strong with them. Several legislators who face primary opponents are getting campaign boosts from AFP.

AFP's national web is highlighting the Oklahoma legislative effort and naming names. Read their recount of the session, here:

Psychiatric Meds Withheld At Tulsa Jail?

6/18/2016

Comments

Picture
Jail staff often get frustrated when typical tactics fail to compel desired results. They mistakenly diagnos the mentally ill inmate as a hardened criminal. They often ramp up their efforts and the confrontation only deepens the frustration of the jailer, and deepens the delusional parannoia of the psychotic person caught in a criminal world.

Cognitive Dissonance -

Some people will never understand mental illness. Their own mind lacks the necessary capacity to understand a world where a brain doesn't process properly. Most people do begin to understand it when a close family member is stricken with severe mental illness. I know... I was one of those who didn't 'get it' until someone I love was stricken.

Endorsement: Tom McCay For Tulsa Mayor

Fiscal conservatives and liberty-minded Tulsans have one very sensible option in the Mayor's race. Tom McCay is a local businessman with the values needed to restore a prosperous business environment.

Tulsa blogger, Michael Bates of Batesline, just published his own endorsement of McCay. It's so well expounded that I think I'll post up some of it, here. The full endorsement essay is found at Batesline.com.

A guest opinion from the staff of Veterans Today...

The Problem Of A Gullible Audience

Picture
by Jim W. Dean:
What we are seeing with this folks, once again, is an attack on alternative media. It is a textbook media psyops that goes by the term, “Poison the well.”  “They” have their hooks deep into Alt media, as they never could have let it remain independent and a solid counter to MSM. Do they every invite the likes of my staff of columnists to debate their shills on their networks? No… never… and for a good reason. It would not work out for them so well.
But no dummies they, for short money (compared to regular media) they have shown they can drop stuff like this on us and it will take off like wildfire. Sure, their operatives are to blame, but so is the gullible audience, as there have been a long history of these.
I remember way back when, the militia story (ADL maybe) about 2000 “barefoot” African troops at a military base in SC, Charleston I think, in a warehouse complex of UN-painted armored vehicles… the “advance guard” of a black invasion under NATO. That was my real first exposure as to how stupid Johnny lunch bucket could be… off the charts stupid.
“They” used to use small fry, throw-away talent for stuff like this because there is an endless supply of them. But the evolution of Disinformation Planet and head psyops kahunaa you know who was ever more aggressive, as it showed they could even come out of the shadows to do this in plain sight. And despite their very spotty track record, the audience is still there. So the problem is not them, but the audience. Please share your thoughts as to why so many people could be so stupid as to believe this silly stuff. The worst part about it is when “they” view us as advanced plantation animals, who deserve the appropriate right for their real position on the food chain… they have some justification, due to these Pied Piper idiots.
I think they should all have tattoos on their forehead… "Jade Helm – 2015"

Pryor Creek Is OK With Google

Picture
We are coming up on the 10 year anniversary of Google's  presence in the Pryor Creek community. What started out as a rumor and some unusually land purchases in the Mid America Industrial Park, is now a full-fledged regeneration into a globally significant location of the information age.
Google is all about secrecy. They secretly arranged the purchase of lands, When the deal was completed they began a modest construction project which was briefly interrupted by the 2008 global market crash. Eventually they went online with their data center, housed in one metal building with massive cooling towers and their own electrical substation from Grand River Dam Authority.

Endorsement: For Dax Ewbank, In The Libertarian Primary

6/12/2016

Comments

Picture

There will be a full menu of choices for Oklahoma's US Senate seat, this November.  But only one of Oklahoma's political parties has a June primary. The newly re-recognized Libertarian Party has 2 candidates vying for the party nomination in the US Senate race. Robert Murphy(68) and Dax Ewbank(40) are both very solidly in the Libertarian philosophical mindset when it comes to political matters. They both have stepped up to provide state leadership for their party. But Dax Ewbank has placed himself into a position of greater transparency than Murphy appears to have.

Ewbank was a strong advocate for Liberty principles in the 2014 Republican Governor's race. Several respected conservatives endorsed Ewbank as a Republican candidate during that primary. Some of them were merely waging a protest vote against the incumbent, Mary Fallin. But the fact remains that Ewbank was the widely preferred means of demonstrating that discontent on the right.
