One of the indirect economic disasters caused by these gaming compacts is the financial ruin of several other legal entertainment and dining businesses. Concerts and dining are 'loss leaders' to get new business flowing into the real cash cow operations of these gambling halls. Nearby cafeterias, buffets, and other eateries are shutting down at unprecedented rates, in the past 10 years.
