It's outraging constitutionalists who believe that no one can be deprived of liberties w/o due process of law (5th Amendment of US Constitution). Contagious disease policies require a judge's order of direct evidence of transmission or exposure to a known deadly disease in order to issue a specific quarantine. But lazy contemporary orders are assuming that the whole community, including recovered patients; are deadly carriers. It defies medical science. The World Health Organization has been rocked with global scandal over their coverup of the early days of the Chinese outbreak of a new strain of Coronavirus. Social media outlets like Facebook are now letting political groups like the leftist journal, Politifact; determine what the medical realities are. Politifact now has the power to ban the asking of honest questions regarding response to the viral dangers.
A Doctor's video was banned on Facebook because he stepped up to a microphone and asked; "What if we're wrong" about treatment protocols? It's the most amazing plunge into medieval dark ages mentality. But political exploiters of the pandemic are going further than their anointed science leaders even approve of.

Oklahoma's Covid-19 transmission rates are going up in the 3 weeks we've been in the mask mandate era. It defies the claims of mask effectiveness. It may even be doing what the WHO warned of; causing false security and more reckless interactions.
Tulsa leaders have not ordered a ban on adult sexual hookups outside the household where bodily fluids exchange. Tulsa's law enforcement have not cracked down on known prostitution rings in over a year. But the city will shut down an auto mechanic who doesn't wear a mask in the hot garage.  Families have many ways of being active while socially distancing from the broader public. Camping, hiking, and recreational opportunities are still very available. | The coronaviruses does not live long on a dry surface. You'll likely only catch the disease if you're in close proximity to the person spreading it. So limiting your risks should start out with living healthy and proactively keeping yourself away from masses of people. Even in a public place, you can be patient and wait for a crowd to clear out before walking into a retail store or public building. Social distancing does work remarkably well, but broad home quarantines are not helpful when the heat forces the public to use air conditioning. the AC units do not allow fresh air exchange. Regularly getting active outside, while safely distancing; is the best strategy for healthy living (along with good and hygiene). A friend of mine owns a prominent disc golf pro shop in Minnesota. He reports that this summer has been perhaps one of his biggest seasons. People are finding healthier outlets than hanging out in shopping malls, movie theaters, and theme parks. |
