Part One in a series of election previews

McDugle, McEachin, & Grimes are each running in state house races.
The editorial board of Sooner Politics begins posting our research findings on several state legislative races in the coming days. Today we start off with three solid candidates whom we are sure will not disappoint. The 3 member editorial board of Sooner Politics will be posting in other races, in the coming days.

All three of these candidates have been full engaged in Oklahoma issues and deeply rooted in conservative values.

They are innovative and creative in their approach to challenges. These men build teams and find common ground for workable solutions for Oklahoma.

Sgt. Kevin McDugle in HD 12

Picture
Kevin has a passion for leadership and motivating. His marketing firm and other business ventures have addressed needs previously unmet.

His infectious smile and engaging personality comes from a very 'can do' mindset. He got that from his dedicated service to our nation.

His commitment to our veterans has not stopped. Whether it's our disabled and wounded warriors, or those suffering PTSD and other stresses from service to our nation, McDugle has been a friend.

Kevin McDugle was born and raised on a small livestock farm in Morrison, Oklahoma until his family moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma in 1980. Even at a young age, Kevin knew the value of hard work.  At age 12, he worked with his father on the oilfield first doing odd jobs then working his way up as an oilfield electrician apprentice all while still attending high school.

He was the executive director and board member of Soldier’s Wish www.soldierswish.org a nonprofit organization that helps grant the wishes of our active military and those that have an honorable discharge. He is an inventor and has several products in various stages of development.

Kevin graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Phoenix University and a Bachelor degree in business from Southern Nazarene University.  He was an adjunct professor for Wesleyan University’s Tulsa and Miami Campuses.

Kevin served his country by enlisting in the Marine Corps and served in combat in Somalia, Bosnia and Saudi Arabia. He eventually became a Drill Instructor at Parris Island, SC.

Kevin enjoys leading people and encouraging others to reach their full potential.

Kevin is married and has 5 kids. His youngest two are biological brothers he and his wife Tosha adopted through Oklahoma DHS. He loves building new business and helping others to find their niche in life. His hobbies include Golf, Travel and Business.

Kevin McDugle is now running for State House District 12 in Oklahoma which includes Coweta, Wagoner, Porter and Okay.

Attorney Scott McEachin in HD 67

Picture
Scott and Debbie McEachin are a dedicated team for the betterment of Tulsa and Oklahoma.  They have tirelessly worked to promote government accountability and transparency. Their charitable work and volunteerism are a role model for others to follow.
His many years of providing essential legal services to the oil industry have prepared him to be a legislator on day one.
His passion for free enterprise, limited government and personal liberty are what drive him to public service.

ABOUT SCOTT

Born in Tulsa, I attended law school at the University of Oklahoma and met my wife Debbie there.

We have been married over 37 years and together we have three sons, who attended Jenks Public Schools.

South Tulsa has been an ideal place to run my small business practicing law in oil and gas, raise my family, and attend church; it will be an honor to represent the people of South Tulsa.

Dr. Shannon Grimes in HD 86

Picture
Dr. Grimes has been an active Republican for many years and draws a lot of support from the Cherokee County Republican friends who trust his good sense and country values.

Many of us knew Shannon as a "Liberty Republican" but last Spring he switched to the Libertarian Party and filed for office under that banner. He's still the same trusted leader and one of the friendliest Oklahomans we know. His grasp of the issues is solid and his values are true Oklahoman.

United States Army veteran and small business owner, Dr. Shannon Grimes grew up in rural northern Cherokee county.  Dr. Grimes is a licensed Chiropractor who did his undergraduate studies at Northeastern State University, received his Doctorate from the Parker College of Chiropractic, and continued his education with Post Doctorate Neurology studies from the Carrick Institute. Dr. Grimes has run a successful practice in Tahlequah since 2003 and is a member of the Free Market Medical Association.
Over the years, Dr. Grimes has been involved and active with several community organizations such as Kiwanis, Leadership Tahlequah, and the Tahlequah Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Dr. Grimes has spent time volunteering to help the Peggs Volunteer Firefighter Department and has been appointed member of the Cherokee County Sales Tax Advisory Board.
Dr. Grimes has had extensive involvement in political activities over the years and is the former Cherokee County Republican Party Chairman. In early 2016, Grimes changed his political affiliation from Republican to Libertarian after the party was officially recognized in Oklahoma for the first time in decades, “In many ways both the Republican and Democrat parties have failed to adequately represent their members,” he stated, “Both have spent years locally advocating responsibility yet in Oklahoma City their actions tell much different stories. I have joined the Libertarian Party because I believe we must embrace policy that limits the scope of government through sensible fiscal policy as well as practical social policy that protects the rights of the individual.”

"No politician 'checks off every box" in your list of issues. You have to prioritize and use personal discretion regarding every current and future issue that you can imagine. Then you have to also judge integrity & consistency. A candidate's openness to study the issues & courage to think for themselves. Then you need to review their honesty & work ethic.  I respect any voter's decision, when they've informed themselves and took voting seriously." - David Van Risseghem

SoonerPolitics.org is committed to informing & mobilizing conservative Oklahomans for civic reform & restored liberty. We seeks to utilize the efforts of all cooperative facets of the Conservative movement... Content of the diverse columns are solely at the discretion of the dozens of websites who create the content.   David Van Risseghem  is the founder of this platform.
Sooner Politics News is a platform, not a media site. All our bloggers get their feeds promoted regardless of content. As soon as We suppress or delete even one posting, we become an endorser of whatever We didn't censor..The publisher doesn't (and could not) logically agree with all the content, so we would not expect any rational reader to agree, either. What we do hope, is that readers will think for themselves, and at least be better informed of the issues, events, and values that our citizen journalists work hard to provide for free.. We automate much of the tasks so that our sources' content gets as much exposure as possible. We encourage constructive discussion & debate. The solution is more free speech, not less.
