The OMMA finally resumed their reports on the numbers of licenses filed and issued by the Agency. The previous report, on May 13th (20 days ago) had some very inaccurate data. It appears that the numbers were way off for several weekly reports. This data gave a false impression to market analysts and venture capitalists, as well as proprietors investing vast sums in the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Industry.
The short Twitter 'tweet' simply says that "An audit has been performed. The agency does not tell us that any mistakes were make, but our own spreadsheets and archives of their tweets does indicate that they have been reporting inconsistent numbers. The agency claims that they were forced to hire 'temps' until the legislature could authorize the proper funding for true employees. In the past few months their call center has been disbanded for several weeks so they could divert that staffing to filling the backlogs of applicants whom they are mandated to provide an accurate response to within 14 days of submitting a complete application online. Perhaps the agency is already in need of a visit from the State Auditor? Perhaps some employees have been fudging their actual productivity? Whatever it is, the simple tweet will not suffice to provide actual transparency to the people of Oklahoma.
