It appears that the Trump White House is setting up for a purge. The Scaramucci hire is just the precursor. In the last 24 hours, Communications Director, Anthony Scaramucci posted a tweet where he suspiciously tags Priebus in connection to a leaking of personnel files which are he believes are protected by federal law. It may be that the Republicans in the DC establishment have constructed a system to take down or at least paralyze this Trump Administration. The leaks are happening in defiance of federal law. Those crimes are supposed to be investigated by the Justice Dept., under AG, Jeff Sessions. Among Trump's expressed disappointments with Sessions, is the lack of findings in the leaking investigation. When Scaramucci appeared before the White House Press, he said that he reports directly to the president. That flies in the face of standard protocols which put Priebus as the gatekeeper of who sees the president. We may now know why this break from protocol is taking place. Scaramucci later elaborated.. “If Reince wants to explain that he’s not a leaker, let him do that,” Mr. Scaramucci said on CNN Thursday. “But let me tell you about myself. I’m a straight shooter and I’ll go right to the heart of the matter.” | Michael Yglesius of Vox.com posted the following.. |
This current caper kicked off Wednesday night, when Scaramucci fired off a since-deleted tweet at 10:41 that read, “In light of the leak of my financial disclosure info which is a felony. I will be contacting @FBI and the @TheJusticeDept. #swamp @Reince45.” This tweet was based on a misconception. There was no leak of Scaramucci’s financial disclosures — information came from his public financial disclosure for his job at the Export-Import Bank. But it also kicked off a wild 12-hours of internal feuding that reflects the general chaos and mismanagement of the Trump White House. |
WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump’s newly appointed communications director publicly acknowledged his power struggle with the White House chief of staff and said their differences may be too wide to bridge. Anthony Scaramucci, who joined the White House last week and reports directly to the president rather than to the chief of staff as is customary, said in a CNN interview he and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus have been at odds. “We have had differences. When I said we were brothers from the podium, that’s because we’re rough on each other,” Scaramucci said, referring to a comment he made last week. “Some brothers are like Cain and Abel. Other brothers can fight with each other and get along.” He continued: “I don’t know if this is reparable or not, that will be up to the president.” Mr. Scaramucci indicated to The Wall Street Journal that he has spoken to Mr. Trump about his differences with Mr. Priebus. Asked in a text message Thursday morning when he would make his case to the president, Mr. Scaramucci responded: “I spoke to him twice today.” |
