In the late night session of the Oklahoma Senate, a lengthy debate occurred over Senator Dahm's landmark legislation to restore full 2nd amendment rights to the people of Oklahoma. Oklahoma is one signature away from joining 12 other states who fully support the unabridged right for free people to bear arms as stipulated by the Bill of Rights. In the final senate vote, two Republican senators, Dugger & Yen, voted with the Democrat caucus to deny this right; citing too many dangers if people aren't required to get all the papers and the training which the papers require. The Democrats also decried the loss of $4 million dollars of income to OSBI from making free citizens pay state fees for the privilege of having the state recognize their constitutional right. Senator Dahm has had a rich history of defending the constitutional right to bear arms. just 4 years ago he filed the Piers Morgan Bill. That got him a New York City debate with the host of CNN's prime time debate show. Dahm is roundly celebrated for his effectiveness in handling Morgan's studio debate antics and dismantling his argument. Morgan was fired from CNN within weeks after that 2nd amendment debate with Dahm. |
