Media outlets report within this last hour that Senator Bryce Marlatt has resigned his seat in the Oklahoma senate. Along with his resignation, Marlatt also turned himself in the the Oklahoma City law enforcement for arraignment on charges of sexual battery. The charges stem from an evening of drinking and night life in Oklahoma City, late last June. The Senator was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a felony complaint of sexual battery, Tuesday morning, and quickly posted $5,000 to bond out. Marlatt was serving his final 4-year term in the Oklahoma Senate, representing the NW Oklahoma district. He resides in Woodward. This is the 4th vacancy in the senate, this year. Two other Republicans face or plead guilty to various criminal charges. One other senator scheduled his resignation to take effect at the end of the year, to accept and executive position at a Tulsa financial institution. Details are still coming in.... |
