Democrats Face Difficult Midterm Prospects

1/31/2022

President Biden’s approval rating continues to drop as rising inflation levels, heightened crime rates, and COVID-19 frustration remain prominent worries for millions of Americans. As we look forward to the 2022 midterm election, experts are discussing how these issues could become the driving force behind the Democrats’ losing control of the Senate in November. Co-Founder and President of RealClearPolitics Tom Bevan joins to discuss how the issues facing Americans will impact voters in November, what Republicans are doing to secure success in the midterms, and how the Biden administration could shift tactics to address voters’ concerns.

Justice Stephen Breyer's pending retirement means someone new will likely be on bench this fall to hear a pair of cases that could change or end the use of race-based affirmative action in college admissions. The Supreme Court has ruled narrowly in favor of upholding Affirmative action in the past, but with its six-justice conservative majority hearing the arguments this time, some significant changes to college admission systems could be coming.  Jonathan Turley, a George Washington University Law Professor, a Supreme Court and Constitutional scholar and FOX News Contributor, breaks down the arguments for both sides, what Courts have ruled in the past and what some of the potential outcomes could be.

Plus, commentary by former Rep. Jason Chaffetz, host of the Jason in the House podcast.

Best,

Jonah Blocker

FOX News Rundown EXTRA: Is 'Hillary Clinton 2024' The Democrats Best Hope?

1/30/2022

President Biden enters his second year in office with low approval numbers and increasing questions over whether he should run for re-election in 2024.

According to a recent FOX News survey, 60% of people don't plan on voting for President Biden if he decides to run.

He has said he'll be running with Vice President Kamala Harris on the ticket, but that hasn't quelled the speculation.

Earlier this week, Mark Penn, former Clinton advisor, joined host Dave Anthony on The Rundown to discuss why President Biden continues to struggle and the likelihood he will be replaced on the ticket by a Democrat like former Sec. Hillary Clinton.

The pollster looked at who in the Democratic party could be popular enough to win in 2024 and whether or not former President Trump could win again.

Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the interview in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire conversation with former Clinton advisor Mark Penn and hear more of his take on the politics of the day and who we may see running for the White House two years from now.

With the recent announcement of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement, there is a big job opening on the bench that Democrats want to fill. President Joe Biden says he plans to seek advice from both Democrats and Republicans, and intends to make his official nomination by the end of February. FOX News Chief Legal Affairs Correspondent, host of FOX News @Night & the Livin’ The Bream podcast Shannon Bream discusses the possible line up of candidates.

The 2022 Midterm Election is now ten months away, and President Biden intends to get out and make the case for a continued Democrat led Congress despite the prediction that the GOP will flip the House. With Democratic retirement announcements flowing in, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced last week that she will be running for re-election. FOX News Radio Political Analyst Josh Kraushaar and FOX News Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram discuss the possible campaigning approaches by the President and Speaker of the House.

Evening Edition: Combating Anti-Semitism On International Holocaust Remembrance Day

1/27/2022

Today, the world marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorating the day in 1945 when the Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated. This year, the day is also being used by influential members of the Jewish community to speak out against the rise of anti-Semitism. Recently, the United Nations passed a resolution to condemn Holocaust denial. It was co-sponsored by Germany, but Iran did not approve of the measure. The event highlights how certain groups of people around the world still deny that the Holocaust took place and add to ongoing international antisemitism. Ambassador Danny Danon, Israel's former Permanent Representative to the United Nations, discusses what world leaders can do to combat the alarming rise of anti-Semitism.

The Battle To Replace Justice Breyer

1/27/2022

Sources familiar with 83-year-old Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer have shared he plans to retire at the end of the current term after more than 27 years on the Court. Now, all eyes shift to President Biden as Americans anticipate who he will choose to fill the liberal justice’s seat. During his presidential campaign, then-candidate Biden stated he intends to appoint the first female African-American Supreme Court Justice and Americans are curious to see if he will follow through on his promise. Fox News Chief Legal Correspondent Shannon Bream joins to discuss what landmark cases still remain for Justice Breyer before he steps down, who the frontrunners are to replace Breyer and how the nominating process for a new justice will play out.

As athletes across the globe prepare for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, several countries have announced diplomatic boycotts of the games, meaning that their top officials won’t be in attendance.  The controversy over this year’s Olympics stems from human rights concerns alleging China’s abuse towards Uyghur Muslims.  In response, the Chinese government has denied the accusations and warned that political comments could be subject to punishment.  Two-time Olympic cross-country skier, Noah Hoffman, joins The Fox News Rundown to discuss the safety and censorship of athletes in this year’s games, the role of sponsors, and the many pressures Olympic athletes face during their careers.

Plus, commentary by radio show host, Jason Rantz.
