Sen Stanislawski has a bill which he says 'broadens" the language of physicians qualified to recommend. But it does the opposite. In reading the bill, it actually limits the authorization to just two types of physicians, even though the language of SQ788 allowed MD.s, D.O.s, Podiatrists, Optometrists, and Chiropractors. If your glaucoma requires a cannabis medicine, your eye doctor is not allowed to direct that treatment. Likewise if your spinal condition is causing excruciating pain, and your chiropractor opts to incorporate the naturopathic effectiveness of cannabis. The State Health Dept. improperly banned the last 3 groups. Stanislawski's bill would permanently fix the ban. It does NOT broaden access or privilege, despite the claim. https://legiscan.com/OK/bill/SB162/2019 |
