The Charlotte Independent School District in Charlotte, a rural town in Texas, wants to indoctrinate your children under the guise of mental health.

On its surface, the district’s website appears like any other, with information on the school schedule, supplies list, and student hand book. But a closer look reveals an attempt at pushing gender ideology onto young students and their parents. The school’s counseling department has a separate web page dedicated to mental health resources which is filled with information that seeks to groom students.

The page contains links to chat rooms where students are encouraged to seek advice from strangers. Q Chat Space is one of the recommended websites. It purports to provide online discussion groups for LGBTQ+ teens ages 13-19, facilitated by staff who are not mental health professionals. LGTBQ Youth Chatrooms is also included as one of the schools mental health resources. Their chat rooms are open to children ages 19 and younger to “talk in a safe space and be able to express themselves without fear of being judged.”  Both websites contain a “quick escape” button that prompts the page to shut down so that parents cannot see what their children are up to. Charlotte ISD is encouraging students to talk to strangers about their gender.

Other resources offered on the website include Validation Station and LGBTQ MAP. Validation Station is a free texting service that sends daily gender-affirming and “uplifting” text messages to trans and non-binary youth. LGBTQ MAP is a color-coded map that informs users which states have LGBTQ inclusive curriculum laws and which do not. States like Texas and Florida are shaded in dark orange, indicating that these states have a “Don’t Say Gay or Trans” law that “censors discussions of LGBTQ people or issues in school.”

The school also offers dangerous advice to adults dealing with LGBTQ children. Quoting President Biden, parents, teachers and doctors are encouraged to affirm trans-identifying children, because “Affirming a transgender child’s identity is one of the best things a parent, teacher, or doctor can do to help keep children from harm…” However, the opposite is true. A study conducted in Sweden concluded that sex-reassigned persons have “considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behavior, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population.”

In an animated video featuring cartoon characters Mr. Green and his gender-confused son, parents are given step by step guidance on how to respond to a child that comes out as transgender. Instead of getting professional help for his troubled child like Mr. Green suggests, the video explains that actually he is the problem and he must affirm his child’s newfound identity no matter what. “By suggesting that something is wrong, Mr. Green makes his child feel like no one understands or supports them,” the narrator explains. Therefore, parents are encouraged to affirm their children’s transgender identity, or they risk causing “feelings of depression and hopelessness.”

Genderspectrum.org is another resource offered by the school. The website contains articles and advice for young people and their parents seeking information on gender identity. In an article titled “Understanding Gender” the author explains that “the relationship between a person’s gender and their body goes beyond one’s reproductive functions.” The website also addresses “Myths about Gender'' and concludes that there are more than two genders and that children are not too young to learn about gender diversity.

Charlotte ISD is located in the district represented by Tracy O. King in the Texas House of Representatives. Mr. King has a history of being anti school choice. A recent house vote showed that he promotes banning the use of state funds for school voucher programs. We emailed Mr. King to ask if he still maintains that parents who oppose gender ideology should be unable to send their children to a school of their choice. We have not received a response from his office.

It’s clear that rural Texas children are not immune to the gender ideology plaguing schools across America. While some schools boldly display their agenda in the curriculum, many disguise it under the veil of mental health. This is why our work is so important. We will continue to uncover what schools are recommending to children to help protect them from this dangerous ideology.

Every day millions of Americans send their children off to school, placing their trust in teachers to help their children learn, grow and become educated members of society. For more than six hours each day, children are confined to a classroom, often spending more time interacting with their teachers than with their own parents. For many working parents, this arrangement is necessary for their children to receive a comprehensive education. But what happens when the welcome bell rings and the school doors close? Do parents really know what’s going on in the classroom? 

“They have no idea,” one teacher told us.

In an exclusive interview with Libs of TikTok, a Brooklyn school teacher decided to expose what really goes on behind closed doors. “Parents are too busy to know what's going on,” she explained. The teacher, who asked to remain anonymous, said she felt compelled to reach out to us after what she experienced teaching at Sunset Park High School and Charles O. Dewey Middle School. 

Sunset Park High School previously received backlash for displaying an image of a cop aiming a gun at a black girl in the school lobby. Although it was reported that the image was moved, the teacher confirmed that she had seen it displayed even after the incident. 

For a school that boldly displays such propaganda in its lobby, it comes as no surprise that their teachers shamelessly indoctrinate students in the classrooms. In one history class, the teacher said she was forced to proctor a test about the Black Lives Matter movement. The test contained questions that essentially compared George Floyd to Martin Luther King Jr., asked students to identify the principles of Black Lives Matter, and had them weigh in on whether the violent riots were justified.

When we asked the teacher if she ever attempted to speak out against the curriculum, she admitted she was too afraid to do so, but continued to secretly document her findings. In one instance, she came across a book on a teacher’s desk titled Communism for Kids. The book  promotes the principles of communism in the form of a children’s story, complete with illustrations of princesses, fancy swords and a talking chair. In its introduction, the book reads like a second-rate version of the The Communist Manifesto: “Communism names the society that gets rid of all the evils people suffer today in our society under capitalism,” it explains. “To really understand communism and figure out which idea of it is the best, we have to first understand capitalism and how it makes people suffer.” 

The classrooms in Sunset Park High School are typically decorated with leftist propaganda by activist teachers. One teacher adorned the classroom with a poster that read “Sanctuary cities now.” There were also posters that promoted Black Lives Matter and encouraged students to “Protest, organize, occupy, walk out, resist, strike, shut it down.”

More images we received revealed a Time Magazine cover featuring Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez next to an image of women's march protesters holding signs that read “Watch out Trump my generation comes next.” In another classroom, Covid-19 paintings adorn the walls with messages like “Get vaccinated and be immune.”

Once outside the classroom and into the hallways, there is still no escaping the leftist messaging. Lining the corridors are transgender flags and pride decorations. We were told that there is a large amount of transgender male teachers in particular. This got confusing especially when one showed up visibly pregnant. But there is no grace given to those who mistakenly misgender. “I got yelled at in front of the whole class,” the teacher told us. 

Middle School Children are not safe from the leftist propaganda either. The teacher told us she saw some of the same radical ideas at Charles O. Dewey Middle School.

The teacher provided a picture of one classroom with a large transgender pride flag prominently displayed. Two American flags lay crumpled off to the side, barely visible.

After many years of working in the NYC public school system, the teacher told us she could no longer remain silent. The combination of the radical leftist agenda and the extreme Covid-19 regulations forced her to come forward with her experience. And although she has a sense of guilt for not speaking out until now, she is glad she can play a part in exposing the school and help implement change for future children.

Sunset Park High School and Charles O. Dewey Middle School did not respond to Libs of TikTok’s request for comment.
