Plans for an ICE detention center in Oklahoma City have taken a detour.

Earlier today, OKC Mayor David Holt issued a statement in which he – just one vote out of nine on the City Council – effectively took credit for persuading out-of-state property owners to withdraw their land from consideration for a potential ICE detention center.

There’s officially one less corrupt grifter-lawmaker inside the Oklahoma Capitol!

In case you missed it, now-former State Rep. Ajay Pittman – a self-proclaimed speaker, consultant, and influencer – pled guilty yesterday to three felonies and resigned from office after getting caught trying to pass forged financial documents to the Oklahoma Ethics Commission.

Then I was introduced to La Huasteca, named for the vibrant region of Mexico near the Gulf of America Mexico. Located at 1621 N. MacArthur, it’s got all the drinks and snacks you could ever want, but it also has a built-in taqueria, a toy store, a boot shop, a hair salon, and, of course, all the bootleg Freddy stickers you could dream about.

With his polling and favorability numbers continuing to plummet, it will be interesting to see how Republicans in purplish districts handle Donald Trump this upcoming election season.

For example, will Stephanie Bice – the 5th Congressional District representative who’s been making a slow dance to the middle – distance herself from the aspiring dictator, or will she continue to bend the knee, praise his excellency, and pretend the emperor is wearing clothes?

Thanks to a tip via the Ogle Mole Network, we’ve learned that Dr. Joe Fallin – the Nichols Hills dentist who was married to former Governor Mary Fallin through most of the 1980s and 1990s – has filed as a Republican for HD 85. It’s the North OKC district that is currently repped by gubernatorial candidate Cyndi Munson.
