Elisabetta, an Italian-influenced restaurant and bar at 7300 N. Western, is open for dinner reservations starting today (Friday 2/28).




The operators are 84 Hospitality, purveyors of Empire Slice, Burger Punk, and Goro Ramen.

Open Monday through Saturday starting at 4:30.

KC sports bar to take over Chalk space

Captain’s, a Kansas City-based group of sports bars, has struck a deal for the old Chalk space in Chisholm Creek at 1326 W. Memorial.




Hiring is underway and they hope to open within 30 days.

Chalk opened in 2019 with a hugely ambitious, large space with a hundred screens for watching multiple games simultaneously. The building also features a large 2nd level outdoor bar and deck. Chalk closed earlier this year.

Former Chesapeake campus listed for sale

Almost all of the old Chesapeake Energy (now Expand Energy) campus on the southeast corner of NW 63rd and Western was officially listed for sale today.




The property spans 103 acres and includes 26 buildings totaling 1.8 million square feet of Class A office space.

There is also a 67,000-square-foot fitness center with two basketball courts, a pool,and climbing wall as well as a sports field with a running track.

Truck Yard opening soon

Getting very close at the Truck Yard on the southern part of the Bricktown Canal, near the Landrun Monument.




In addition to food trucks, the large indoor space will feature a permanent kitchen.

A flatbed truck will serve as a stage for live music and in addition to the ample seating, there are also scores of foldable lawn chairs. Several bars as well.

The opening date should be announced soon.

New coliseum to open this summer

Construction continues to move rapidly on the new MAPS 4 Coliseum on the State Fairgrounds.




The new arena will seat up to 9,000 and is scheduled for substantial completion in June.

Once open, the existing Ron Norick arena will be demolished.

Two historic buildings are set to be remodeled into a culinary marketplace, office space, apartments, and 6 pickleball courts on top of covered parking.




The main (south) building 3-story was built in 1926 and was once home to Chevrolet Motors in Automobile Alley just north of downtown. The most recent use was Stow's Office Furniture.

Wheeler District continues substantial growth

The Wheeler District continues to rapidly expand, with homes, townhomes, condos, apartments (now under construction), plus all types of businesses.




They have recently started on new home development reaching toward the Ferris wheel.

Wheeler sits on the site of the old Downtown Airpark (they preserved the terminal) Western, just south of the Oklahoma River.

Big Friendly Brewery, Taco Nation, Clarity Coffee, AKAI Sushi, and several shops and other businesses are open. Coming soon is American Gothic

New animal shelter to start

Groundbreaking will take place later this month for the $42 million MAPS 4 animal shelter.




It will be built directly north of the existing shelter, which is dated and inadequate.

It will be the main location for intake, adoption, and care of animals by OKC Animal Welfare. The facility will be a critical element in making OKC a safer and more welcoming place for residents and pets.

OKANA to open later this month

The grand opening of OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is scheduled for March 6, 2025.




However, reservations for the resort opened on February 21, 2025.

The outdoor water park will open in late spring.

Hotel: An 11-story hotel with 404 rooms and views of the river and lagoon
Waterpark: A 100,000 sq ft indoor waterpark with a wave pool and slides
