Reservations are now open for the OKANA, booking for next spring and summer.



The massive resort is well under construction next to the First Americans Museum on the Oklahoma River.

Room rates start at $175 per night and include admission to the water park.

OKANA will feature a 400-room hotel, a family entertainment center with a huge arcade and laser tag, a 100,000 square foot indoor waterpark with a wave pool and numerous slides, and a massive outdoor lagoon

Daiso coming to the OKC area

Essentially a Japanese dollar store, Daiso will open its first store in Oklahoma at 1411 E. 2nd in Edmond.



The hugely popular chain with more than 4,000 stores in Japan is now rapidly expanding in the U.S.

Daiso features unique stationery, colorful office supplies, brightly packaged snacks, home decor, cooking tools, and a host of items unique to Japan and China.

Look for the retail giant to open more locations in the OKC area.

Lively Hotel opens

The Lively Hotel is now open in OAK, along with the new Cloud Puncher bar and restaurant with a huge outdoor deck and pool area.




The Capital Grille is finished inside and is busy training in advance of its early October opening.

Pottery Barn, Arhaus, Williams Sonoma, and Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar will open next month. Mesero will come later and the massive RH Gallery with rooftop bar and restaurant is slated for spring of 2025.

$8 million planetarium opens this weekend

The new Love’s Planetarium is set for a grand opening Friday, September 20th.




Located inside Science Museum Oklahoma, the new $8 million facility required years of planning and construction at 2020 Remington Place next to the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Admission is free upon purchase of entry to the museum and public performances in the planetarium will commence at 2 PM on Saturday.

Whole Foods planning Edmond location

The OKC area may soon be getting a second Whole Foods Market.




The national chain sells natural & organic grocery items, housewares, wine, and other products.

OKC currently has one location near NW 63rd and Western which opened in 2011.

Plans for the ongoing development of I-35 and Covell commercial center show Whole Foods near the center of a large expansion including dozens of retailers and restaurants. Currently, the project is home to ShowBiz Cinema and a Hilton Garden Inn. Recently, a new Crest Foods opened

Pappadeaux coming to OKC

Yesterday, the OKC Planning Commission approved the rezoning of a site at NW 16th and Broadway for a new Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. It will be the first Oklahoma location for the chain.




Pappadeaux still owns 3 acres of land on the southeast corner of Memorial and Broadway and had filed plans to build at that location several years ago, then decided not to move forward.

Elisabetta to open in December

Coming soon to 7300 N. Western, Elisabetta will offer Italian fare, a nice bar area, plenty of booths, and a large patio.




Elisabetta will be operated by 84 Hospitality of Empire Slice House, Goro Ramen, and Burger Punk fame.

Old Cox Center set for demolition

Plans have been filed to demolish the old Myriad/Cox Center/Prairie Surf Studios to make way for a new $1 billion arena.




Last December, OKC voters approved a penny sales tax increase to fund the new home for the Thunder and other events.

Prairie Surf Studios had been leasing the property from the city but were notified they must vacate.

Demolition should start immediately after the new year; plans also call for the removal of the pedestrian skybridge that connects to the Wyndham Grand Hotel. The area

MAPS 4 beautification projects identified

The MAPS 4 Citizen Advisory Board is set to approve a $33 million beautification master plan for various improvements throughout Oklahoma City.




MAPS 4 was approved by voters on September 14, 2021. Part of the anticipated $1.1 billion budget was allocated to help transform the appearance of Oklahoma City with targeted investments in beautification.
