Tommy Bahama opens at OAK

Oklahoma’s first Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar and store is now open at OAK OKC at NW Expressway and Penn.



The two spaces are interconnected and the large bar area has huge roll-up doors and windows for nice days.

Hours are Su-Th 11-9, Fr & Sa 11-10, Su. Live music is featured 5-9 M-F and 12-4 and 5-9 Sa & Su.

There is a daily happy hour 3-6.

Norman is close to launching the $1 billion Rock Creek Entertainment District, a live/work/play community that will be home to restaurants, shops, hotels, office space, and housing alongside a new multi-purpose arena that will host concerts, community events and OU basketball and Gymnastics.



Located at Northwest 24th Avenue and Rock Creek Road, the project will create thousands of
new jobs, add over 1,000 housing units and is anticipated to spark billions in business spending

Massive Dick's House of Sport opens

The massive Dick’s House of Sport has opened at 13145 N. Penn just south of the Kilpatrick Turnpike.



The two-level, 115,000-square-foot Oklahoma City store is the 16th location for acHouse of Sport, which the company launched in 2021. The smaller Dick’s location at 14200 N. Penn is now closed.

A field attached to the store can be used for open play, clinics, league space or as an ice rink in the winter.

There will be a formal grand opening celebration Oct 18-20

Williams Sonoma opens at OAK

Williams Sonoma is now open at OAK located at NW Expressway and Penn.




WS had previously operated in Penn Square Mall but vacated that location several years ago.

Hours are M-SA 10am - 8pm and Sun 11am - 6pm.

Williams Sonoma offers professional quality cookware, bakeware, gourmet food, and cooking demonstrations.

New Pottery Barn opens tomorrow; others to follow

Pottery Barn opens its new, stand-alone store at OAK OKC tomorrow (Friday 10/4).



Arhaus opens 10/18. Capital Grille 10/20. Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar and Williams Sonoma are both getting close. Mesero should open around the first of the year.

Abuelo's closes in Bricktown

After a 30-year run, Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant has closed in Bricktown.



A sign posted on the door indicates a permanent closure.

The location at 17 E. Sheridan was one of the first to open in Bricktown in 1994.

The other restaurant in OKC on Memorial Road remains open as do other locations in the chain.

USS Oklahoma City memorial planned for Oklahoma River

Plans are moving forward for a large memorial featuring the dive plane and sail of the decommissioned USS Oklahoma City, a submarine built in the 1940s.



The memorial will be the centerpiece of a new section of Wiley Post Park, stretching along the north shore of the Oklahoma River adjacent to the lower section of Scissortail Park.

Additional plans call for various playground equipment, shade structures, and seating areas.
