Plans are moving forward for a large memorial featuring the dive plane and sail of the decommissioned USS Oklahoma City, a submarine built in the 1940s.
The memorial will be the centerpiece of a new section of Wiley Post Park, stretching along the north shore of the Oklahoma River adjacent to the lower section of Scissortail Park.
Additional plans call for various playground equipment, shade structures, and seating areas.
