Patients who are healthy enough, are planning to attend a capitol rally, on Feb. 6th.

  The advocates and patients impacted by medical marijuana reforms are now scheduled to hold an event at the state capitol, next Thursday.  Leading attorney and industry consultant, Ronald Durbin  is very involved in this initiative.
  Durbin was successful in the summer of 2018, to push back against unconstitutional emergency Health Dept rules. The Attorney General ultimately advised the state to rescind those rules and issue a set which is within their constitutional authority.
  Last August, Durbin organized a march on the Health Dept. after the commissioner & Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) refused to meet with industry consultants to find a workable implementation of the new rules which became effective on Sept. 1st.  That day, the Commissioner of Health resigned. within days the OMMA director also resigned.
 Durbin issued this message;
"..we are marching to protect 788 against unnecessary over regulation and limitation. We will be voicing our opinion about the problems created by the Legislature last year, and what bills that have been filed this session that will hurt medical marijuana patients and local businesses."

Here is the January 30th press release that organizers added to a social media event entry.

As mentioned, we are marching to protect 788 against unnecessary over regulation and limitation. We will be voicing our opinion about the problems created by the Legislature last year, and what bills that have been filed this session that will hurt medical marijuana patients and local businesses.

MARCH ON THE CAPITOL!!!

  With more than 30 bills filed this legislative session which could impact medical marijuana patients and businesses, it is time to let the legislature that patients and Oklahoma businesses are serious and will fight to protect 788.  With all of the issues from lasts years new laws related to medical marijuana patients and businesses, it is time to let the Legislature know that the people demand those issues be fixed and that 788 be preserved.  With the outside interests pumping up a petition that would kill Oklahoma businesses, its time to let the world know we will fight to protect Oklahoma.
Please help get the word out. February 6, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Sorry about the short notice, but we have pulled things together with tighter timelines. This will be an all day event. We will march on the Capitol like we did OMMA and make sure the legislature knows we are serious about protecting Oklahoma patients and businesses. This event needs to be huge!! We are reserving the outside steps (BRING YOUR SIGNS) and the inside Rotunda where we will have a platform set up for representatives and senators to come address the crowd and take questions. We already have commitments from the House side to have leadership there. We will have a list of all representatives and senators to help people find theirs, and we will break at some point to go to offices before coming back together. There is a lot to coordinate, so if you can help, please let me or Darrell DC Carnes know. Please go to the event page so we can get an idea of who is coming.
