Zoo making way for penguins

Demolition has begun on the old Acquaticus facility to make way for a new and elaborate marine mammal habitat which will feature a large indoor/outdoor penguin exhibit.



The Oklahoma City Zoo has filed plans and work will soon start on a new and elaborate marine mammal habitat which will include a large indoor/outdoor penguin exhibit.

This new expansion will be located in the eastern section of the park overlooking Zoo Lake and encompass 3.5 acres including existing sites

First Canoo EV rolls off the OKC assembly line

Start-up Canoo has produced its first electronic vehicle at the new Oklahoma City plant.



Earlier this year, an LLC affiliated with the company acquired the 630,000 square foot manufacturing facility and surrounding land at I-40 and Morgan Road, formerly operated by Terex.

The first assembled vehicles were on display this week and the OKC plant continues to hire, with 120 employees expected by the end of the year with a goal of 700 as production ramps up.

Big Biang Theory opens today in Film Row

The popular food truck, Big Biang Theory, will officially open its brick-and-mortar location today 11/15 in Film Row just west of downtown.



They will bring their popular Asian-influenced hand-pulled noodle dishes but will also feature an evolved and expanded menu with such items as a braised beef bowl and curry noodle dishes. Big Biang recently won Best Savory dish at the 2023 Festival of the Arts.

Tokyo reopens today

The grand reopening of Tokyo is today 11/10 at 7516 N. Western.



Same great food and people, brand new digs as they built all new across the parking lot from their original building where they had operated since 1987.

Long, wrap-around sushi bar, intimate booths, and an outdoor patio for nice days.

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 AM to 2 PM then 5 PM to 9 PM; 10 PM on Friday and Saturday; Sunday 5 PM to 9 PM and closed Mondays.

Two former Mahagony proprietors, Dave Osborn and Jason Pool, are opening Symmetry today (11/6) located in Casady Square at 9203 North Pennsylvania Avenue.



Executive Chef Glenn Scott has created a menu of traditional favorites with a modern flair.

Beautiful space with a large semi-circular bar featuring fine wine and craft cocktails.

Hours: Bar opens at 4pm, Dinner service: 5pm-10pm Monday-Saturday and reservations can be made

The old Heritage Lanes has been converted into a comprehensive restaurant, bar, bowling, and games center.

18 of the original 40 bowling lanes have been removed and the entire building has been thoroughly renovated. 8 lanes at the far south end have been converted into a VIP bowling area that can be rented for parties.
