Edmond is the latest city to require masks in indoor public places. City council members voted 3-2 on an ordinance Monday night. The council needed four votes for an emergency clause, putting it into effect immediately. It will go into effect in 30 days, August 26. City officials started the meeting saying Edmond had 33 new coronavirus cases on Monday, but hospitals filling up is their main concern. It has had 583 total cases and 14 deaths.
