There has been an active project inside the AI expert Intelligentsia. The project, is to wrestle with the idea of injecting equity into artificial intelligence. They claim the current state of AI is inherently racist. We at Red River TV disagree and our retort to that notion is what they seek to turn AI into will be inherently more racist than what they claim to be fighting. This isn't a question for readers of white papers or the halls of some silicon valley startup. What is the outcome we want for the intelligent digital programs we interact with daily? These programs run the background of our economy, handle school admissions, sort through resumes for corporations and even steer medical decisions. As we offload more and more of our daily lives onto these programs it's important to understand the philosophy behind the implementation of these platforms. If you start with the presupposition that whites or any group of people are inherently bad than the software you design would need to taper positive outcomes for this group. You cannot maintain a free and open society or market when the underpinning has as its mission to account for equity by making broad assumptions of people based simply upon their skin pigmentation. A liberal society has the understanding that these types of one-dimensional solutions will only lead to more inequity across our society and find us marching backward toward an ideology that I would not recognize and I think most would certainly reject.
