Last week a group of black Republicans decided to become more active in party politics. They did this by attempting to be active in the Tulsa chapter of the Oklahoma Young Republicans. In the process of doing this, they were accused by Tulsa Republican leaders of attempting to infiltrate the Young Republican chapter. We were made aware of this incident last week and decided to get involved. We did this outside of our media company RedRiver TV. Our mission with anything we do as media creators has always been about giving people a voice and shedding light on injustice and corruption wherever it may be. I think how the Oklahoma Young Republican leadership handled this was wrong and the optics were just as horrible. This conduct points to a pattern of underhanded tactics when these people feel threatened. The conduct of the Oklahoma Young Republicans should be called out and anyone involved with this event should apologize or resign. You don’t invite people to be active in your group and then accuse them of nefarious intent once they decide to step up and be counted. We talk to Hannah Silk about this issue and her very own story dealing with the Oklahoma Young Republicans.
