The Bicameral Interim Study group led by Jon Echols & Greg McCortney, will meet this Wednesday to approve a set of recommendations to the full legislative body. It will serve as the basis for fundamental statutes to fill in where the temporary emergency rules have served. those temporary rules are set to expire by the end of the summer, but this proposal will supercede the rules immediately upon being signed into law.
A revamped Oklahoma Republican party is holding elections this winter. New leadership is in place in many precincts of the state. Now some county conventions are being held over the next month. Then the state's top leadership posts will be filled by new party members at the April state convention. David McLain is the only announced candidate for state chairman. Former Rep. Mike Turner is running for vice chairman, as is John Roberts.
Our two legislative bodies are entrusted with the preservation of representative democracy. Yet they insist on ruling their own chamber more like dictators in a 'banana republic'. That's just one of the stories we cover.
Other matters include; David Bullard's Constitutional Carry Amendment The Senate resolution could settle the citizen's unalienable right to arms & self defense. Or it could trigger an accelerated erosion of all our rights.
The near dictatorial rules of our two legislative chambers are more akin to a banana republic than a representative republic. Only a coup can overthrow the man at the top of the power ladder. The citizens are greatly disserved by this hijacking of our constitutional intent.
This week we will see what we bargained for, last November. Will a political 'newbie' become a strong, effective, & popular governor? With the State of the State Address, Oklahoma will finally find out if we will get any of what we voted for, last November.
Along with the end of Gov. Fallin's era, the Oklahoma Republican party is in the process of selecting a replacement for Chairman Pam Pollard. The governor is said to favor David McLain, of the Tulsa County Republican Party.
Ralph Northam's Worst... I'm not piling onto the latest reason for the Northam expulsion rage. He disgusts me for his barbaric view of human life. But his teen antics are not what decent humans should be most outraged about. He should never have been given political power while having so low regard for innocent human life. His scalpel is deadly, his grease paint is not.
This weekend we look at 1. Cities behaving badly, 2. Legislators writing horrible bills, but leaving ridiculous laws on the books. 3. An unethical plot in the Ethics Commission staff. 4. More efforts to undo the will of the voters. 5. The promising examples of young leaders like Nick Sandmann.
Our leftist media was outraged at a youth, this past weekend. Nick Sandmann was poised and respectable throughout the spectacle. Our nation sorely needs more people like Nick. Our duty is to invest in the next generation to help them exceed our own.
