It's becoming obvious that some politicos are not comfortable with the latest insurgency of activists demanding state action to end, and criminalize all selective abortions in our state. Some veteran politicians are now openly 'repenting' of being a 'prolife' regulator of the selective abortion industry. Other politicians are determined to block any legislation which might strengthen the Abolish Human Abortion (AHA) strategy of setting up a state policy of nullification of federal abortion policy imposition, with a committed abolitionist governor.
Churches across Oklahoma are confronted with picketers outside their chapels. A few Abolitionists are blaming evangelical churches for protecting the legal abortion industry by simply regulating when, where, how, and who can legally undergo a surgical death of their unborn baby. Other churches are holding special events billed as "Repentance Meetings". Alter calls invite attendees to repent of being a "pro life Christian" and take up a new term of 'abolitionist'. They then define an abolitionist as opting for a strategy of "bold confrontation" as absolutists. It's not that a devotee has a change of policy about murdering unborn babies. It's about adopting an Alinskyite doctrine of political correctness, demonizing any alternative strategies, shaming the masses, and disrupting all other social norms. |
The Timeless Call To Prolife Ministry
The prolife nuns who instructed & trained me have nothing to repent of. They didn't write abortion legislation. They assisted, prayed, ministered, instructed, and led by example. I've been doing these things before Roe vs Wade, and I'll be doing these things after it's overturning. The Christian Alinskyites will not shame me.
The Born Again analogy.
Others, like myself; identify with the 'born again' experience of a complete change of life after a personal encounter with God's grace and holy spirit.
My problem, as a 17 year old convert to Pentecostal discipleship was that I discounted any salvation which didn't affirm my own experience with God. I was sincere, but insulting. Seeking to edify, while tearing down. It's much the same with some folks who feel the need to repent of identifying with term 'proLife'.
In recent years some political figures have openly apologized for "writing prolife legislation" because the outcomes still allowed thousands of murders. Former Senators Randy Brogdon & Joseph Silk have been heavily influenced by Russell Hunter. In 2019, Silk filed SB13, to completely end and criminalize all abortions, not just selective abortions. Reagan's 1980 doctrine of self defense rights was wholly disregarded. I publicly urged Silk to refile his bill with life-protecting language for issues like ectopic pregnancy emergencies where a mother is bleeding to death from an exploded fallopian tube. Silk ignored my plea and only after Hunter destroyed Silk's senate career, did Silk attempt to amend his bill with self-defense-rights language.
Senator Warren Hamilton came to the Senate this year with wisdom and integrity, mentored by the history of how Russell Hunter's tactics contributed to destroy the Silk initiative. Hamilton publicly the few dozen Abolitionists who disrupted the Senate committee meeting after his first bill was rejected in early February. Unfortunately, Senator Treat didn't see the live video feed in the rotunda. Hamilton urged the group to adopt a personal comportment which honors the God they claim to be ambassadors of. Sadly, Hunter immediately resumed his diatribe immediately after Hamilton ended his speech in the rotunda. It seems the Abolitionists want a band of thousands of 'John the Baptist's, and not 'Apostle Paul's. But it was Paul's diplomacy before King Agrippa which actually compelled a persuasive conversion argument which Agrippa even openly acknowledged in front of the royal court. In contrast, King Herod never did publicly repent from John the Baptist's rebukes. But John's head was served up on a platter. |
In early February, Sen. Hamilton's bill was soundly defeated in the 5th floor committee meeting. Out in the hall, Hamilton was asked to speak. the video contains his remarks at 2:42, into the video.
There will always be arguments over strategy in politics. The sad reality is that the confrontists and the incrementalists both have some valid points. Abolitionists mostly believe in a strategy of getting a bold governor who will defy a federal supreme court and executive edicts. But most political shifts have come incrementally. 2nd Amendment Rights are a great Oklahoma example where dozens of steps have occurred over several recent years, to restore a massive portion of our original bill of rights.
It's terribly sad to see natural political allies devour each other over strategy differences. Journalist, Jamison Faught of Muskogee Politico said; "... if you've ever followed the AHA group. If you're not 100% on board with them, you're essentially with the Devil. You can even be an abolitionist, but if you're not with their abolitionist group it's not good enough." |
The Knee-jerk Senate Pro Temp
What's obsessing Treat? Gov. Stitt is said to like the House Speaker's bill. Others say the original bill's language doesn't even come close to a nullification bill. OK2A said that the bill is a proactive structure for any future Presidential Executive Order which circumvents the statutory lawmaking process and instead rules by edict.
Greg Treat watched with outrage as his Health committee chairman was the target of Russell Hunter's 2019 billboard campaign in the wake of the senate rejection of SB13.
It appears that senate leadership is indicting and convicting Hamilton, along with the senate's newest member, Jake Merrick; as collaborators with Russell Hunter.
It's a dangerous posturing which could topple the Senate leadership, if enough reasonable senators deem Treat as being just as vindictive as the most staunch abolitionist bullies. |
