I started a Facebook conversation by asking, if what you believed to be true was actually false, would you want to know the truth? Then I ended by asking what was more important, legislative intervention to fix political corruption or stop the murder of unborn babies. The answers were as varied as I suspected they would be. But the Truth spoken by God Himself leaves no doubt about the correct answer. It’s B. Stop the murder! Right now, I’m only speaking to God-fearing Christians who truly want to know the truth and honor God by living their life holy and acceptable to Him. If that’s you, then please prayerfully consider the following truths I’m about to share.

Let me illustrate. As a State Senator I authored legislation that required an ultrasound be given to the expectant Mom before an abortion could be performed. I truly thought I was doing the right thing. I now realize I just added one more law that kept abortion legal and regulated and most likely hasn’t prevented any abortions. Look at this another way, I had inadvertently written legislation around the premise that a baby could be murdered just as long as the mother of the baby had an ultrasound. In doing so, my bill actually entrenched the idea that murder is perfectly legal as long as certain regulatory "conditions" are met first. With my bill, a baby could be legally murdered after the ultrasound was given.
God says though, "Thou shall not murder." Man has changed that to say, thou shall not murder unless you have an ultrasound. Or, thou shall not murder babies over the age of 20 weeks or, thou shall not murder after the baby can feel pain. These regulations to murder unborn babies are all in Oklahoma State law. What a blatant perversion of God’s Word.
Unknowingly, I adopted a philosophy Christians simply cannot embrace. I had become a moral relativist and categorized a list rules by which babies could and could not be murdered. This was a direct violation of the 6th Commandment and it was clear, I had sinned. I had broken His commandment with my bill. God puts no conditions on when someone can be murdered. I have repented.
However, I suspect that had my bill read “an ultrasound must be given before you can murder your baby” I’m quite sure I would have never written such a bill. But I hadn’t thought about it that way until now. You see, my entire life since Roe v Wade, like millions of other Christians, I have been lulled into ignoring what abortion really is...it’s murder.
Think about this, there is not one single law in any State in the Union that “regulates” any other kind of murder. Murder 1st or 2nd degree, manslaughter, or by any other definition is a felony and punished, not regulated. Yet, for some strange odd reason, the murder of an innocent baby is subject to the whims of politicians and judges. Have we lost our minds? Since when did murder become a political issue?
How have we been so blinded to accept abortion as a choice or as health care alternative? The answer may sting, but the truth is, we may not have lost our minds, but we have hardened our hearts and softened the definition of murder. Abortion may sound nicer than murder, but it’s still murder of innocent babies.
The last 45 years have proven that the leaders and the pro-life strategies have done little to nothing to prevent the murder of unborn babies. The pro-life industry has kept abortion legal, regulated, and profitable. Sixty million babies have been sacrificed in death because of our blind adherence to an illegitimate Supreme Court opinion, and a lack of courage to hear what God has to say about abortion. Over 5,000 babies are murdered in Oklahoma every year.
Now, what I’m about to say will no doubt be hurtful to those who already know this truth but are unwilling to engage in the fight to abolish abortion, rather than regulate it.
This scourge of death is on the hands of pastors, church leaders, politicians, and pro-life leaders. They are all complicit, either knowingly or unknowingly by keeping the death mills open.
Unfortunately, many of them do know the truth but have chosen to placate their conscience by ignoring the truth. In doing so, they believe they might escape reality of James 4:17. They won't. They accepted the mantle of leadership when they took the titles "pastor, or leader, or elected official." Thus their accountability is much higher to this truth. Woe to them!
However, there is another group of people that have been blinded to the truth by these leaders. I’m talking about members of the church. They are usually eager and willing to hear the truth but it isn’t shared from the pulpit.
Here is the bottom line truth. There are roughly 1.3 million people who are followers of Christ here in Oklahoma. We all had a similar experience where we were once shackled by sin. But when God’s Grace and Mercy flooded our lives, things dramatically changed. We now understand the call of Jesus that means loving God also meant to love our neighbors (preborn babies) as ourselves.
My prayer for those of you who hate the murder of innocent babies is simple. Now that you have been exposed to Gods truth about abortion (murder of unborn babies) you can no longer be a part of the status quo. No longer can you accept pro-life policies and the idea that we need more laws to regulate when and how many babies can be murder.
Under our laws, today in Oklahoma 15-20 unborn babies will be murdered.
We have 2 choices;
- Continue the "fools errand" that keeps abortion legal, regulated and profitable with more incremental laws to regulate the murders.
- Or, embrace God’s idea of loving our neighbor, and stop the innocent from being led to slaughter. In our system, where government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed, we actually can stop this holocaust.
James 4:17 makes our responsibility as followers of Jesus crystal clear. if you know what is right and don’t do it, it’s sin. God’s Words not mine.
Join me in this worthy and Godly fight to abolish abortion. You can start by sharing this truth with your pastor and other leaders that may not know the truth. And you can pray for for the leaders who do know but are too cowardly to stand up for the most innocent among us.
Blessings,
Randy Brogdon
