As we enjoy the fruits of a productive state legislative session in which the House, Senate, and governor were able to reach meaningful compromises that gave each something important they wanted, it is worth asking why our national leaders can’t follow the same path.

Andrew SpiropoulosFormer Senior Counselor to the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, Professor Spiropoulos previously clerked for Judge Danny Boggs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and practiced law with the Chicago firm of Gardner, Carton & Douglas. He has been a Heritage Foundation Salvatori Fellow and is an adjunct scholar with the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, where he was named the 2011 Milton Friedman Distinguished Fellow.
