Eleven-year-olds reportedly asked if they're gender fluid by non-binary librarian at school event

11/30/2022

Another middle school has jumped on the LGBTQ indoctrination bandwagon.  This time it’s Hastings Middle School of the Upper Arlington School district in Ohio.

Unbeknownst to parents, Hasting’s 6th grade English Language Arts (ELA) teachers teamed up with the Upper Arlington Public Library and invited youth librarian, Alexx Burris, to make recommendations for books related to the classes’ reading theme “Coming of Age.”

During the presentation, Burris reportedly recommended 9 books in total but focused on two books. Most notably, Anna on the Edge whose main character is introduced to and explores her gender fluidity. According to a parent whose child was present for the discussion, the youth librarian proceeded to identify herself as non-binary and proceeded to question the children on their understanding of the terms non-binary and transgender.

Ana on the Edge, a book on gender fluidity

According to parents, during at least one of the presentations Buris asked whether any children in the room thought they might be a different gender and whether they have a safe place to discuss these thoughts at home. The teachers, Hastings library staff, and aides allowed the presentations to continue in each of the 5 Language Arts class periods. Understandably, several parents called the school to voice their concerns.

“[We need to let this] community know what is happening within our schools. Because right now, there are a lot of parents that have no idea what their kids are being exposed to on a daily basis. Adults need to start protecting our children from this constant bombardment of gender confusion and sexuality,” said one frustrated parent from the school.

These parents have every right to be frustrated, their children are being targeted by two publicly funded institutions. Their tax dollars were not intended to be spent on public services aimed at confusing and sexualizing their children behind their backs.

Another parent that spoke to Libs of TikTok said, “My husband and I immediately contacted the principal who was unaware of the guest in the school as well as the books and subject matter being discussed.” The parent expressed to us that the principal seemed to agree that the subject matter is, in fact, controversial.

Twelve days later, all sixth-grade families received an email from the Hastings principal, Mike Robertson explaining that some parents have reached out with concerns that books were not shared in advance and, therefore, did not have an opportunity to opt-out of the instruction.

Email to parents from Hastings Middle School principal

Robertson’s email shared that an investigation was opened, offered a link to the district’s opt-out policies, and reiterated the district policy that requires materials be screened for controversial content that may merit administrator approval.  The letter included the list of books that Burris recommended.

Taken aback, one parent noted, “I now have a list of 18 books that I can and should peruse that may or may not contain a controversial topic that might be available to my child in school.”

One month later, some parents received the findings of the investigation from the school district’s Director of Human Resources, Matthew Jordan. The 10-page report included an admission by the principal that, although he had discussions with some of his staff regarding materials, controversial issues, and parents’ rights to opt-out, he did not have this conversation with the 6th-grade ELA staff.

Summary of findings from the investigation into the books promoted at Hastings Middle School

And that was it. There was no further communication from the school. There was no apology for the promotion of gender fluidity to 11 and 12-year-olds. More alarming, there was no corrective action, no policy change, and no consequences for staff who exposed these children to confusing topics behind their parents' backs.

“Most of our community is in the dark about the books in elementary classrooms, the middle school presentations, the asking of pronouns, teachers having conversations with individual kids about whether or not they are transgender without parental knowledge, signs in bathrooms saying they can’t use it if they are anti-LGBTQ or don’t like using a gender-neutral bathroom…All of which is happening in our schools and is documented,” said a parent of a child in the school district.

We reached out to the school and library and both declined to comment.

NYC schools supply students Plan B and more without parental notification

11/28/2022

New York City’s Department of Education has been providing birth control (such as the long-lasting shot Depo-Provera), Plan B/emergency contraception, and “all pregnancy options” to thousands of high school students in grades 9-12, without parental consent or notification through the Connecting Adolescents To Comprehensive Health (CATCH) program.

CATCH Program flyer in Forrest Hills High School, Brooklyn, NY

The CATCH program was launched in 2011 during an unpublicized pilot in thirteen city schools. During that year the New York Post reported, in just five schools, 567 students received Plan B tablets and 580 students received Reclipsen birth-control pills according to NYC’s Department of Health.  The schools also provide condoms and pregnancy testing. But the city failed to mention the almost 40 separate “school-based health centers” which gave out 12,721 doses of Plan B in 2011-12, up from 10,720 in 2010-11 and 5,039 in 2009-10.

The Post obtained the report under a Freedom of Information Law request.

“Besides “emergency contraception,” about 40 school-based clinics have dispensed prescriptions for birth-control pills, intrauterine devices (IUDs), hormone-delivering injections, and Patch and NuvaRing — covering a total 93,569 monthly cycles through June 2012, the report says. Handouts of birth-control packets rose from 6,027 in 2009-10 to 10,462 last year. Depo-Provera injections rose from 1,213 to 2,117. Staffers also insert plastic IUDs in the uterus, where they can remain for years.”

Of course, officials refused to discuss the project.

During the pilot phase, The Chiaroscuro Foundation released poll data showing 53 percent of New York City parents opposed the controversial program.

CATCH Program Flyer in Forrest Hills High School, Brooklyn, NY

We reached out to New York’s Department of Health to see how many students received birth control, the morning-after pill, and two different medications referred to as the “abortion pill”: mifepristone and misoprostol. We have yet to receive a response, but if the numbers from the pilot remained consistent we are looking at well over 15,000 students receiving Plan B, and over 16,000 receiving birth control pills without parental notification. Despite other data showing a majority of parents opposed the program, health officials say only one to two percent of parents in those schools chose to opt out of the program.

In 2020, According to Stuyvesant High School, additional services are being offered: “CATCH program returns to Stuyvesant with added services.”  What else could possibly be offered other than the abortion pill or performing the abortion pill? We decided to investigate by using the QR code from a flyer at Forest Hills High School in Queens. Scanning the code led us to a text message with presumably, the program director.

Pretending to be a pregnant student, I told the person who runs the program that I wanted to “get rid of it” before my parents found out.  I asked her if the program was confidential and she assured me it was.

Not being a student limited additional information. However, it begs the question, what would the school have advised? Assuming they would have administered a pregnancy test, if positive would they have scheduled the student for an abortion? Would they have given her an abortion pill? Would they even encourage her to talk about the pregnancy with her parents?

According to the extremely limited information available online, parents have the option to opt-out their children from the CATCH program but it’s not clear if parents are even aware this program exists. You can find limited information about the program on the Department of Education’s website and there is no mention of it on the city’s Department of Health website.

We reached out to the NYC Department of Education CATCH Program Director, Pamela Haller to see what materials were sent to parents, and when, that outline the services offered. We still have not received a response.

Teen pregnancy is a major concern for parents and society. However, simply throwing potent medication with the risk of serious side effects at 14-year-old girls is not without consequence. There is more to sex education than birth control and abortion.  Taking parents out of the equation is not only irresponsible, but it's also dangerous.  The path to responsible adulthood begins at home. Parents, not elected officials or school administrations, have their children's best interests at heart.

North Carolina state employees force woke training

11/24/2022

We are all familiar with the online human resource training courses required by employers –  workplace rights and responsibilities, workplace harassment prevention, etc. However, North Carolina’s Office of State Human Resources Center is force-feeding progressive ideology on its employees.

An employee that spoke with Libs of TikTok on the condition of anonymity told us, “We have to do these little training sessions every month online. A lot of them are just kind of like don't be a bad person you, know kind of avoid certain things, and then the majority of them are simply you are racist or bigoted. It is a constant implication that, no matter what you do, you have these biases somewhere deep down inside of you that you have to root out.”

Libs of TikTok is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

The same state employee sent us images of the required courses and at least 15 were directly related to realizing your unconscious bias, aka if you’re white, you’re bad.

The notion of unconscious bias is notoriously based in junk science and originates from Harvard’s “Implicit Association Test”.  However, a study from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Harvard, and the University of Virginia examined 499 studies over 20 years involving 80,859 participants that used the IAT and found the correlation between implicit bias and discriminatory behavior appears weaker than previously thought and that there is very little evidence to suggest that changes in implicit bias have anything to do with changes in a person’s behavior.

So why would North Carolina, or any other state for that matter, be using taxpayer dollars to convince their employees they are unconsciously biased?

Scarier yet, NC state policy (Section 1, Page 21 8/17/2000) mandates Unlawful Workplace Harassment training provided by the Office of State Human Resources Center which includes language suggesting it is unlawful to use misgendered pronouns.

One prompt reads:

“A transgender person might mention to her supervisor that she is taking hormones and intends to transition. The supervisor responds that the behavior is “unnatural” and refuses the gender pronoun requested by the employee.

“Is this potentially unlawful workplace harassment?”

If you answer, ‘No” you are met with a “incorrect” notification.

“The correct answer is “Yes.” Harassing an employee because of a gender transition, such as by incorrectly and persistently failing to use the name and gender pronouns that correspond to the gender identity with which the employee identifies, and which the employer has communicated to management and employees can be unlawful.”

Are they trying to imply that misgendering someone is considered harassment and may be met with legal ramifications? It appears that way to the employee we spoke with who is concerned about legal consequences.

“So, if I am not accepting of a person believing they are something they are not, and I don’t affirm it, that’s illegal.  That is the way they formatted the question, to make it seem as if legal action could be taken against you if you don't use the right pronouns. Last time I checked we live in America and you can't do that.  This isn’t Canada.”

Despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on June 15, 2020, which affirmed that even if Congress may not have expressly contemplated discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity when enacting the Civil Rights Act, Title VII’s ban on sex discrimination protects LGBTQ+ employees by its plain language, there are no laws regarding incorrect pronoun use.  In the 2020 SCOTUS case, the transgender worker was fired when she came out as a woman. It is not clear whether simply using the wrong pronouns could be so “severe” or “pervasive” that it creates a hostile work environment under federal law.

The North Carolina Legislature is using the threat of legal consequences to enforce their woke pronoun policy which states:

“All employees have the right to be addressed by the name and pronoun corresponding to their gender identity, as indicated by the employee. A court-ordered name or gender change is not required. Accidental or inadvertent misuse of pronouns does not constitute harassment; however, persistent and intentional refusal to use an employee’s preferred name and pronoun may constitute harassment. If you are unsure what name or pronouns are preferred by the employee, politely ask them how they would like to be addressed. Pronouns include “he,” “she,” gender-neutral pronouns such as “they,” or other options.”

It looks like North Carolina’s woke regime is following in Canada’s footsteps in becoming increasingly hostile to the traditional understanding of individual rights.

WATCH: You can hire children's characters to twerk at your kid's birthday party now. Really.

Norco, Louisiana business DeQuan’s Cartoon Mascots specializes in twerking cartoon mascots for kids' parties and has been operating for fifteen years.

The Louisiana company describes its business as “specializing in kids parties of all ages. Have your child’s favorite cartoon mascot visit and entertain. There's guaranteed to be an explosion of smiles.” We don’t know about smiles, but what you are really guaranteed to get is a party filled with depravity.

Take one look at the business’ Facebook or Instagram page and you will your child’s favorite cartoon characters humping, grinding, and twerking in front of, even with, children of all ages.

This video from one of their kid parties has over 8.2 million views, 81k likes, and over 56k comments.  In the comment section, you can see the argument over the continual desire for adults to sexualize our children.

One man commented that the video and twerking children’s mascots "has the intent to sexualize children, much like drag queen story hour. Robbing our kids of youthful innocence is heinous and helps to further tear our social fabric.”

Another commenter defended the grinding characters saying, “you’re assuming they [the kids] are going to be a stripper. Which, by the way, it’s 2022 being a stripper is normal, being incompetent and intolerant is not.”

Libs of TikTok is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Our culture is overrun with sexual content that was considered inappropriate for children only a few years ago.  Ideas like “sex positivity” and “gender fluidity” are ubiquitous in media and in the school system.  A lot of the conversation regarding today’s children being prematurely exposed to sexual content centers around parental rights to shelter children from concepts they are too young to appropriately comprehend. Unfortunately, we seem to be fighting an uphill battle. Not only do we have parents hiring sexualized entertainment for their children’s birthday parties, but now the parents rationalize and participate in the lewd behavior.

Make no mistake, exposing our kids at an early age to sexual content is wrong.  It’s called grooming and it needs to stop immediately.

Biological male who was 72nd on boys track team takes first place on girls team

11/17/2022

Washington’s Seattle Academy High School girls’ cross-country team qualified for the state championship thanks to trans student, Aspen Hoffman.

Last year, Hoffman was a mediocre cross-country runner on Seattle Academy’s boys’ team. During freshman year, Aspen Hoffman competed as a boy and finished 72nd in the League finals. Now, as a sophomore competing as a girl, Hoffman broke Seattle Academy’s school record in the girls’ 5000-meter category and ranks 1st in League. Hoffman’s time in the 5000-meter would rank him 48th if he had competed in the boys’ division.  Earlier this semester, Hoffman took 2nd at Districts, qualifying Seattle Academy for the State championship.

Seattle Academy competes in the Emerald Sound Conference which is comprised of 14 schools. Libs of TikTok spoke with a coach in the conference who told us, “allowing [Hoffman] to compete against biological girls deprives other girls' teams of the chance to compete at State (which is a big deal).  If [Hoffman] competed in the boys’ division, [Hoffman] would place 56th on the boys’ team.”

Libs of TikTok is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

It’s not just the coach that was upset over Hoffman’s wins. Libs of TikTok spoke to several parents of young female athletes in the conference who are understandably upset.

“[Hoffman] is larger than any of the girls, and shamelessly takes 1st place on the podium. Now my daughter is competing against a male for scholarships. And we can’t even say anything. You can’t even approach it in a nice way without being labeled a hateful bigot. You will get threats against you,” said one father.

Parents are terrified to even raise concerns about Hoffman’s presence on the girls’ team. Another parent noted, “parents are upset but they know it has to go to the state committee, which isn't politics, it's the state high school board, and unless there's any kind of pressure put on them to change the rule nothing's going to happen.”

In 2007, the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) adopted the International Olympic Committee's position, which stated that trans individuals could participate in sports in their reassigned gender, provided they had undergone surgery and a minimum of two years of hormone treatments. Then in 2018, WIAA updated its policy lifting the surgical component, “an MTF [Male to Female] student must have one calendar year of medically documented testosterone suppression therapy to be eligible to participate on a female team, consistent with WIAA policy.” However, in 2021 they disregarded all scientific reasoning and eliminated all requirements related to medical evaluation and hormone therapy.

“All students should have the opportunity to participate in WIAA athletics and/or activities in a manner that is consistent with their gender identity… Athletes will participate in programs consistent with their gender identity or the gender most consistently expressed. School personnel responsible for student eligibility will work collaboratively with the student-athlete to determine eligibility.”

Even more troubling to students and parents, WIAA eliminated aggrieved students and competing schools’ right to even question the participation of a trans student in female sports.

The rationale behind the changes was outlined in the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s 2021 Gender Diversity Toolkit where they inaccurately argue trans athletes on teams have “not been shown to diminish opportunities for others” and that there are  “no competitive advantages.”

Parents and coaches in the Emerald South Conference disagree. One of the coaches we spoke with said,

“Girls in cross country frequently peak their freshman or sophomore year. They grow “unhelpful” (for running longer and faster) body parts as they mature. It is the very rare (and not at all curvy) girl that keeps getting better all the way through high school. This is why high school teams tend to be younger girl dominated. The opposite is true of boys. They keep getting bigger and stronger — not growing any unhelpful (breasts and hips) body parts.”

Not only do biological males have the advantages of greater lung capacity, bone density, and muscle mass, “our daughters are also going through puberty and developing breasts and hips and having a period every month. [Hoffman] doesn't have any of that and it is also an advantage — apart from his body being different,” noted one parent.

Aspen Hoffman holding track medal for demolishing another girls team.

Males that compete in female sports are taking away opportunities specifically meant for girls.  “What about [Hoffman’s] teammate that was bumped off the varsity? These girls are losing their opportunity to not just get to state but maybe earn a scholarship. Schools can only run seven people on varsity. This means when [Hoffman]  joined the girl's team a biological girl got pulled back.”

The parents and coaches we spoke with continued to emphasize their concern, “This is just about fairness in female sports. It would be just as insane if we made a girl who's transitioning to be a boy compete against the girls,” said a league coach.

Aspen Hoffman takes 1st place in the Girls' Varsity Silver race advancing Seattle Academy to the state championship.

The Left has taken any reasonable discussion of biological males competing in female sports, including those based on safety and science, off the table. Instead, they resort to silencing anyone with an opposing view by labeling them transphobes and hateful bigots. Their tactics sadly only serve to diminish biological girls’ accomplishments and deprive them of an even playing field with equal access to athletic opportunities.

White kids described as 'predators' and 'school shooters' in Oregon high school classroom

11/16/2022

Predator. School shooter. Not intelligent. Privileged. Racist. Dumb. What do these words all have in common? These words were all listed as adjectives used to describe white students in a freshman English class at Scappoose High School in Oregon.

Libs of TikTok is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

About 25 students walked into Ms. Autumn Gonzales’ classroom at Scappoose High School in Oregon to a whiteboard with two columns, one labeled “White Girls,” and the other “White Boys.” In total there were 21 words used to describe white girls and boys and not one was positive.

According to one student who spoke with Libs of TikTok, “the students were in there for a few minutes and all were looking at the board, not only in disbelief but shock. Several of them took pictures.” Before Ms. Gonzales came into class, the students started asking lots of questions amongst themselves.  When Ms. Gonzales entered the classroom, one student raised her hand and asked, "What is the context of the writings on the board?”  Ms. Gonzales allegedly told her "to mind her own business.”

Noticing the students were not satisfied with that response, Ms. Gonzales “then tried to spin it to the class.”  Apparently, she claimed the lists were from the previous class discussion about “suggestions for a possible play at the school.”

After hearing about the contents on the board, one of the parents immediately contacted the school, forwarded the image, and asked for a call from Principal Jerimy Kelley. The parent told us, “I received a call back from Mr. Kelley approximately two [hours] later, he admitted that he had no less than 25 emails and or messages left about the situation. I asked him why this would be discussed, let alone written up on the whiteboard for all to see in an English class. He had no reason, and said it will be looked into immediately.”

Three days later, after several emails, requests for students to be transferred out of Ms. Gonzales’ class, and demands for her resignation, the school superintendent sent out an email to parents excusing the situation as a teaching exercise in “stereotypes and implicit bias.”

Students and parents aren’t buying it, claiming Ms. Gonzales is an activist who pushes her beliefs on other students. Her Facebook profile suggests they are correct, with a slew of politically charged posts about “privilege” and being “terrified” about the 2020 election results.

The parent continuted on in their statement to Libs of TikTok saying, “My child has told me on at least 2 different occasions, that Ms. Gonzales was very demeaning to the students, and to my child personally.”

Could you imagine the outrage that would be coming from the entire nation if the words on Gonzales’ whiteboard were used to describe any other group? Why are we tolerating anti-white racism? Tragically, anti-white racism is all too common in our classrooms. Progressive teachers that push their radical ideology, like CRT into our schools need to be fired.

Gonzales is still listed as faculty on the Scappoose High School website. When Libs of TikTok reached out to the school district, superintendent Tim Porter said, “Thank you for reaching out. I have no further comments than what is included in the letter.”

I think it is safe to assume Ms. Gonzales will not face any disciplinary action. But this is Oregon so we shouldn’t be surprised.

Michigan school board appoints 'unhinged' 23-year-old LGBTQ trustee who self-describes as having 'several mental illnesses'

11/14/2022

Dryden Community School Board in Michigan just appointed their youngest-ever trustee, Carl Austin Miller Grondin, at age 23 and parents are outraged over his disturbing online presence. Parents aren’t upset about his age, but rather over his antics.  Active on TikTok and Instagram, Grondin describes himself as “chaotic evil” and “unhinged” while posting pictures and videos filled with, offensive language and sexually inappropriate attire.

In a recent article about the appointment, Grondin said, “I want to be the person I never saw growing up in Dryden as the only openly LGBT kid… A ton of the administrators like (Dryden Junior/Senior High School principal and district superintendent) Mary Finnigan were constantly encouraging me and were great, but my experience would have been even better if I saw someone like me to look up to.”

So this is the person who kids are supposed to look up to…?

But it gets worse... Let’s take a look at some of his TikToks. In this one, Grodin describes his urge to label any inconvenience to him as “homophobic”:

We are all aware of the severe societal punishment associated with being labeled as “homophobic.” People who have been accused of the sentiment have not only suffered damage to their reputation but are ousted from their communities and have even lost their livelihoods. With his 104.7 thousand TikTok followers, Grodin promotes invoking the label whenever mildly inconvenienced. Just look at the comments section from this video post.

He is already encouraging kids on TikTok to use branding people with homophobia as a manipulation tactic. School-aged children should not have an opportunity to be exposed to this type of “influence”. To make the situation even more unsettling, Grodin posted another TikTok where he describes himself as having “several mental illnesses”:

Let this sink in, the Dryden Community School Board appointed a self-proclaimed mentally-ill individual without any input from the parents in the school district! Would you want this person to have any say in your child’s education? Would you want this guy helping to set your child’s school agenda?  It makes you wonder if the school board is even vetting their trustees or simply filling diversity quotas.

Libs of TikTok is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber

One parent told Libs of TikTok, “the local school board knew the local voters would NOT vote for this freak even though he is from a well-known and influential family...so they APPOINTED him. This is not the influence we want or need on our kids.”

Typically, Dryden school board trustees are appointed.  However, a vacant seat became available when board member Kelly Weier stepped down to accept employment at the district’s high school. When a parent reached out to Libs of TikTok they said, â€œThis was announced out of the blue, and parents/grandparents are enraged.”  Grondin will serve on the board for two years during the next election cycle unless a special election is announced.

Dryden School District did not respond to Libs of TikTok’s request for comment. However, the next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 14th at 7 pm and the community will have an opportunity to weigh in.  “The next school board meeting is going to be interesting and well-attended,” said a parent who is planning to attend.

"Family-Friendly" Pride Festival Features Dildo Ring Toss Game

11/13/2022

This past Saturday, the city of Venice, Florida held its 3rd annual Venice Pride Festival in Centennial Park.  The event was promoted on the city’s official Government website.

As you can imagine, this “family-friendly” event came with all the typical festival activities – everything from R&B pop artist Emmanuelle Jacob, singer Lisa Noe, a parade, and a “Kids Korner” complete with scantily clad drag queens!

But just wait until you see the “family-friendly” game CAN Community Health, sponsor of Venice Pride, had at their table! A dildo ring toss!

CAN Community Health is a non-profit based out of Sarasota, FL supposedly committed to serving the needs of the HIV community for the last 30 years.  Did you know that rainbow dildo ring toss for kids was necessary for HIV prevention and treatment? Neither did we!

Libs of TikTok is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

CAN Community Health has been popping up at Pride festivals and community days all over the country and they seem to have incorporated dildos into their prevention plans! Just check out the table from this CAN community booth in Phoenix, AZ.

Obviously, they didn’t want to leave the kids out of all the action! That wouldn’t be fair. I guess that is why CAN Community Health appointed Sarasota County’s Principal of the year, Dr. Covert of Pine View School, to serve on their executive board. I wonder if Dr. Covert is planning to have his 2-12th grade students play dildo ring toss during this week’s “unity day.”

Even the volunteer coordinator, Marcy Jack, was in elementary education.

It started out with freedom to love whomever you wanted. “Love is love.” Then it was more “representation” and half naked kink parades. Now, it’s drag queen story hour in elementary schools, kid drag shows, and dildo ring toss. We’re so far down the slippery slope. Are we finally allowed to call this grooming?
