How The GOP's Civil War Turned Hot

12/22/2022

In the last few weeks, Andy Biggs and a group of GOP conservative representatives (including Matt Gaetz, Bob Goode, Matt Rosendale and Ralph Norman) have been providing a master class in leverage.

In order to become House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy needs their votes — and so, by threatening to withhold their votes, they have managed to drag Kevin McCarthy to the right in previously unimaginable ways.

McCarthy has been forced to make at least 6 pledges so far — ranging from removing Democrats from committee assignments to rolling back IRS funding — that he had never previously supported.

Do I think Kevin McCarthy was going to keep these promises? I do not. There’s plenty of GOP politicians who share that skepticism. Getting McCarthy to make promises is one thing — getting him to keep those promises is another thing entirely. As Matt Gaetz has explained: “Kevin McCarthy knows he will end up failing Republicans and caving to liberals. That’s why he opposes reinstating the motion to vacate, which was in place from 1801 to 2018. He wants to make sure conservatives can’t fix the problem once it’s too late.” Gaetz has made the case for rejecting McCarthy out of hand better than anyone.

McCarthy probably made those promises to prevent the revolt of House Freedom Caucus members from growing bigger. Still it was good to see McCarthy being forced to promise conservative members some policy victories — in between his nursing visits to the Frank Luntz Day Camp for OxyContin Lobbyists. Marjorie Taylor Greene, for example, is now supporting McCarthy for House Speaker — which has required extensive explanations on Twitter for people who remember MTG’s previous thoughts on McCarthy.

When Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert declined to share MTG’s new enthusiasm for McCarthy — well, let’s just say the knives came out.

In fact, MTG is now such an enthusiastic McCarthy supporter that she’s told some whoppers that you could frame in the Louvre.

Kevin McCarthy’s bid for House Speaker was a tense situation, and volatile. What nobody managed to anticipate was that Mitch McConnell and GOP Senate leadership would help to rush through the Democrats’ omnibus bill in the middle of this tense and volatile situation.

The omnibus bill would ham-string the GOP House for more than a year — a political disaster that has now created a much bigger fight between GOP House members and GOP Senate members.

Chip Roy took the lead in threatening the GOP Senate with blanket opposition if they voted along with Democrats to pass the omnibus bill: “…we are obliged to inform you that if any omnibus passes in the remaining days of this Congress, we will oppose and whip opposition to any legislative priority of those senators who vote for this bill…”

Kevin McCarthy was forced to back Chip Roy’s move: “Agreed. Except no need to whip—when I’m Speaker, their bills will be dead on arrival in the House if this nearly $2T monstrosity is allowed to move forward over our objections and the will of the American people.”

So, then, a total war in Congress — if GOP Senate leadership passed the omnibus bill.

That was two days ago.

Yesterday, Mitch McConnell and 20 other GOP senators voted to move ahead with the omnibus anyway.

A few GOP senators are disgusted with the bill — too few, of course.

You see how this works? When GOP House Republicans use “that kind of rhetoric” (i.e. point out correctly that GOP Senate Republicans are collaborating with Democrats to neuter the incoming GOP House majority) then “statements like that are the very reason that some Senate Republicans feel they should probably spare them from the burden of having to govern.” Our Republican senators are adults — don’t you know! — while our Republican congressmen are children. This is a politician’s version of “heads, we win and tails, you lose.”

Now you know why Kevin Cramer avoids doing TV interviews generally.

Where does the rest of the GOP stand in this civil war? Well, as far as I can tell, President Trump is still whipping votes for McCarthy. Donald Trump Jr. is still whipping votes for McCarthy. MTG is still whipping votes for McCarthy. Steve Bannon, meanwhile, is telling Trump to whip against the omnibus bill.

Everyone’s mad at Ronna McDaniel too — except RNC members, and they’re the only ones who get to vote in that election. Sure, the Florida GOP is holding a no-confidence vote on Ronna right now but, hey, who needs the grassroots? Sure, Ronna climbed onto Fox News and attacked Turning Point last night but, hey, who needs young conservative voters? Sure, Ronna took the job in 2017, and has lost every election cycle since 2017 — but who needs to win?

Everyone’s turned on Mitch McConnell as well — except the GOP senate which just voted for him to continue to lead them. He’s repaid that faith by tapping the 88 year old Richard Shelby to negotiate a spending bill with Democrats that delivers a hiking trail named after Michelle Obama as well as a federal building named after Nancy Pelosi. (Richard Shelby surrendered so much that he should legally change his name to Bruce Jenner-Kardashian.) Then McConnell wobbled out in front of the TV cameras, and told American voters that the omnibus bill was a great deal for the GOP because the top priority of Republicans was “funding Ukraine.”

McConnell: "Providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now according to most Republicans. That's how we see the challenges confronting the country at the moment."

So, the GOP gets to fund Ukraine as their “win” while the Democrats get $250,000 to support Wisconsin’s “First-In-The-Nation Gay Rights Law Book and Archive” and $663,250 for the New York Historical Society’s LGBTQ+ Museum Partnership Project and $523,345 for Compass LGBTQ Youth and Family Services in Lake Worth Beach, Florida and $1,200,000 for “centers to support LGBT students” in the San Diego Community College District and, well, I could go on and on and on.

In other words, Shelby and McConnell funded Ukraine — and the Democrats funded the transformation of America into Sodom and Gomorrah.

Well done, everybody.

The GOP's Crack-Up Is Finally Here

12/19/2022

A well-known senator appeared on TV recently to discuss the omnibus bill to fund the federal government, and delivered the following remarks: “Republicans are emasculated. They have no power, and they are unwilling to gain that power back. The Republicans do not have the intestinal fortitude. They always collapse, and they fear shutting government down — so no policy objectives ever get added.”

Now the question is: which liberal Senator pointed out that the GOP has completely collapsed as a party since the 2020 election?

The answer: Rand Paul.

A GOP senator was willing to state publicly — on Fox News no less! — that his own party has become a joke.

That was Thursday.

Two days earlier, Kevin McCarthy had taken the extraordinary step of appearing on a prime-time Fox News show to openly criticize Mitch McConnell and GOP Senate leadership for trying to pass the omnibus bill with Democrats.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham even took to Twitter to open fire on McConnell’s chief budget negotiator Richard Shelby.

Rep. Chip Roy took to the House floor to denounce Mitch McConnell and Richard Shelby by name — even pointing out that the retiring Shelby was getting $656 million in earmarks for himself in the omnibus bill.

That’s an obscene retirement gift. Richard Shelby said a tearful goodbye to the Senate, and so the Senate wiped his tears with America’s checkbook.

Chip Roy was not alone in his condemnation of GOP Senate leadership. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Byron Donalds, Lauren Boebert, and Mike Lee all took to TV (or social media) to denounce the omnibus bill. The conservative pundit class also went ballistic: Lou Dobbs, Mark Levin, and many more were throwing lead at Mitch McConnell last week. Needless to say, this kind of inter-party fighting is quite rare — and a clear sign of the GOP’s ideological crack-up.

If GOP House members have to go public with their disapproval of GOP Senate members, then you know that private discussions did not go well. In other words, McConnell and his gang are going to pass the omnibus anyway — and only the American public’s outrage can stop them.

As for Richard Shelby, he made sure to note that McCarthy was running for House Speaker — which seemed to be a nod to the idea that McCarthy was merely pretending to dislike the omnibus bill.

McCarthy whacked Shelby for cutting omnibus deal bc he's retiring. Shelby: “He's running for speaker...But we all know it's the best thing to do, is fund the government when you’re here. Whether you’re retiring or whether you got five more years, the problem remains the same."

The civil war between the GOP House and GOP Senate over the omnibus bill follows — by a few days! — the GOP’s not-so-secret attempt to negotiate a mass amnesty bill, which followed the capitulation of the GOP on the gay marriage bill, which followed the capitulation of the GOP on endless aid for Ukraine, which followed the capitulation of the GOP on restricting gun rights a few months ago.

In truth, the term “capitulation” is too kind a word for what the GOP actually did in most of these cases. That word assumes that some sort of fight took place when, in fact, “enthusiastic embrace” might be the more accurate phrase. The GOP has simply abandoned every one of its core principles in the last two years — the entire party platform! — and done so in such a flagrant fashion that even a transparent charlatan like Kevin McCarthy is concerned.

And he should be — most of our Republican senators resemble the weepy buffoon John Boehner at Nancy Pelosi’s portrait unveiling this week.

Let’s be clear: John Boehner has no game. He never had any game. Does anyone seriously believe that Nancy Pelosi thinks this effeminate marijuana lobbyist is her political equal? Or that she would show up to gush over a portrait of John Boehner?

Don’t be absurd. Sure, Nancy Pelosi’s 82 year old husband might have been caught by police with a 42 year old friend in his underwear holding a hammer in the living room of Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco house at 2 in the morning but that’s nothing compared to the humiliation of watching old GOP leaders like John Boehner kiss the ring in ritual surrender to Democrats at Capitol ceremonies.

As Rand Paul said: the GOP is emasculated. They always collapse.

The only place that Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy and Ronna McDaniel have led the Republican Party is to a complete surrender to the Democrat Party. Naturally, they all want to be re-elected to leadership anyway — and they probably will get their wish.

That’s the GOP for you.

The GOP Has Ghosted FBI Whistleblowers

Did you think that the GOP establishment was actually going to investigate the FBI? Hey, I know that they promised to really do something about the corruption of our national security state before the midterm elections — but come on people.

Those are campaign promises.

It’s like Kevin McCarthy not having enough votes to become House Speaker — suddenly he promises to subpoena the 50 intelligence agents who lied about the Hunter Biden laptop, and he announces this promise at the same time that he’s handing out medals to cops for participating in the January 6th federal insurrection orchestrated by the FBI!

Don’t just take my word for it: FBI whistleblowers are coming forward to say that they have never heard back from GOP members of Congress who made promises to them.

Perhaps our elected officials have contacted other FBI whistleblowers — but forget about Steve Friend?

Well, I’ve got more bad news for you: fellow FBI whistleblower Kyle Seraphin hasn’t heard from any GOP elected officials either.

Seraphin has heard that he’s “too hot politically” for GOP leadership — and he thinks that Steve Friend is probably “too hot” as well.

“Too hot” is a common phrase used by GOP elected officials to identify an American citizen who’s actually a patriot and a conservative — as opposed to the grifters and frauds who hold office in Washington, of course.

As one wag put it on Twitter: “If the House Judiciary GOP is afraid to hear from you, the Senate GOP would need smelling salts and a weekend retreat to recover from the sight of you walking into a hearing room.”

Here's 9 Revelations From Kari Lake's Arizona Lawsuit

12/10/2022

I just obtained Kari Lake’s lawsuit — filed in Arizona’s court system — and it names Katie Hobbs, Stephen Richer, and Bill Gates (among others) as defendants.

The lawsuit is 70 pages long, and full of enough blatant election corruption and government malfeasance to make even a communist blush.

Twitter avatar for @AbsoluteWithE

Here are the nine most important sections from the lawsuit — for your reading pleasure.

  1. There were hundreds of thouands of illegal ballots counted in Arizona’s midterm elections — in Maricopa County alone.

  1. Almost 60% of Maricopa County’s voting machines failed on Election Day —that’s not a statistic you’ll see reported in our corporate media.

  1. There is no way that 59% of Maricopa County’s voting machines stopped working on Election Day by accident — and one day after being tested.

  1. Between November 9th and November 11th, Maricopa County suddenly discovered more than 25,000 additional ballots that needed to be counted. That’s suspicious because Katie Hobbs supposedly beat Kari Lake by 17,000 ballots — according to the certified results.

Welcome to the Ideological Collapse of the GOP

12/8/2022

Many of my conservative friends — quite a few of them GOP donors and campaign strategists and media people I must admit — greeted the news of Herschel Walker’s defeat in the Georgia Senate with a shrug.

What difference did it make really? What difference could it make?

It was not indifference to Herschel Walker as a candidate, per se, so much as indifference to the GOP having a majority in the Senate.

Why?

Simply put: very few of them believed that a GOP-dominated Senate would do anything for GOP voters. The mood could be described as complete disgust with Mitch McConnell and GOP leadership — or, as I prefer to call them — our senators from the great states of Cialis.

It’s not just the gelatinous blob known as Mitch McConnell, or that closeted court jester of Fox News, Lindsey Graham. It’s not only the spectacular career implosions of Ben Sasse and John Cornryn. What about Pat Toomey? Rob Portman? Richard Burr? Roy Blunt? Mitt Romney? Thom Tillis? Bill Cassidy? Lisa Murkowski? Look at their voting records: they’re basically a chorus-line of limp-wristed flip-floppers.

In fact, this bunch isn’t worth a bucket of warm spit.

At every turn, this gang of geriatric invalids and psychological inferiors displayed their complete contempt for their own voters in 2022. It’s not just that they hate President Trump — they hate Republican voters. As for traditional GOP values, they have turned on them too. They have gone out of their way to “flip the bird” at conservative principles like limited government, restricted government spending, legal immigration, free speech, gun rights, and religious freedom.

In fact, they have enthusiastically joined hands with Democrats on bill after bill recently — in a concerted attempt to disabuse the American people of the antiquated notion that we have a two-party system.

You might even call it: ideological suicide.

Twelve Republicans joined Democrats last week to pass a gay marriage bill that will allow lawsuits to be filed against organizations that do not recognize gay marriages — making mainstream Christian teaching essentially illegal.

This was the organized GOP response to the Supreme Court’s surprise defeat of Roe v Wade. Think about it: federal abortion law was struck down so the GOP rushed to save gay marriage.

So much for religious freedom.

How can you possibly top that — for selling out your own side?

Right now, GOP leadership is working on a mass amnesty bill in the lame duck session that’s opposed by the overwhelming majority of GOP voters. To fully understand the depth of this treachery, you have to recall that GOP politicians spent the last two years complaining about the invasion on the Southern border. They did this every day — every hour! —on Fox News, and other corporate media outlets. It was the GOP’s daily drum beat. Kevin McCarthy even promised to impeach DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas over the border disaster.

In the midst of all those promises — and all that posturing — GOP Senate leadership is ready to deliver a mass amnesty bill? That’s either political malpractice of the highest order, or the ultimate sign that the GOP establishment stands for nothing and stands against nothing.

It’s the latter, of course.

Take gun rights, for example. This summer, the GOP establishment voted to restrict your gun rights in yet another “bipartisan deal” that eroded the constitutional rights of Americans and gave the Democrats another victory.

How about free speech? Republican senators and congressmen have whined constantly about Big Tech censorship for six years while doing nothing. You might say their virtue-signaling was: all signal and no virtue. Now take a look at the recent news coming out of Twitter. Elon Musk has done more for free speech in America in a month than the entire GOP establishment has done in a decade.

What about limited government? The GOP has helped to send billions of our taxpayer dollars to Ukraine — without even minimal accounting. The GOP has signed on to help Democrats pass every omnibus spending bill. There is no crazy, stupid, dangerous Democrat priority that the GOP won’t eventually fund — except “student loan forgiveness” apparently.

What core principle is left for the GOP establishment to betray? And the answer is: none. Nor is there any cohesion among them, other than blaming Trump for their own mistakes. There’s no party discipline. There’s no party strategy. On any given day, a third of our lawmakers are willing to cross the aisle and vote with Democrats for no particular reason — like children. What have Mitch and Kevin done about this problem? Nothing. McConnell and McCarthy have simply allowed the GOP’s entire platform to be trashed in the last two years.

You know it’s true.

Nor are McConnell and McCarthy any good at the PR side of politics. In truth — they’re awful at it.

Look at how pathetic and weak these two “leaders” were this week — showing up to be abused at public events by Democrat leadership. Anyone with a ounce of sense or dignity would have walked away in disgust — would have fled the scene of their ritual humiliation.

Not this pair. Shameless.

The corrupt corporate media likes to portray the GOP civil war as President Trump versus the party establishment — but the party establishment has totally abandoned the GOP’s traditional values in its hysterical rush to reject Trump. In doing so, this rabble of K Street bootlickers has managed to demoralize millions of Republican voters — which might just be their most lasting political achievement.

President Trump didn’t “destroy” the GOP — the GOP establishment destroyed the GOP.

Sure, there’s a handful of decent people in the House, and one or two in the Senate — Rand Paul and Ron Johnson come to mind — but the rest of them are useless or (worse than useless) whores for Mammon.

Has there ever been a more embarrassing collection of grifters and frauds gathered together under one banner than our current crop of Republican politicians? Has the ideological collapse of one party ever carried sure dire consequences for the fate of one country?

I doubt it — and I’m not alone.

As I’ve told you since the stolen 2020 election, the entire US voting system is basically a labyrinth of shell companies designed to obscure who owns the machines. The companies are privately-owned and unregulated and totally fake. That’s why nobody should need to be convinced about election fraud: you already know there's election fraud because the entire system is designed to disguise itself.

It only took six years for the FBI and the CIA and the NSA and DHS to subvert our constitutional republic so publicly that the vast majority of Americans now believe that we live in a techno-fascist oligarchy with a permanent bureaucracy of left-wing activists in charge of the federal government.

That’s a titanic shift in public opinion without parallel in the history of our nation.

That’s what happens when you install FBI agents as election directors in Arizona, and then shut down voting machines only in the red precincts of Maricopa County on Election Day.

Subtle is not a word that will ever be associated with these knuckleheads. They managed to stop Kari Lake and Blake Masters from getting elected — but you can’t really say they got away with it.

After all, the entire world watched them do it.

As Seth Keshel noted: “Maricopa County is an illegitimate governing body, most correctly defined as an organized crime ring using massive corruption to conceal its own lawlessness.”

Maricopa County is merely the latest example of the Biden regime’s shredding of our Constitution. Since when can the FBI show up unannounced to seize the cell phones of American citizens who haven’t been charged with a crime — like Mike Lindell? Since when can government officials order Twitter employees to disappear the messages of American citizens on a daily basis? Or snoop through their DMs on Facebook?

Indeed, the Department of Justice actually posts bulletins on its website to announce the illegal and unconstitutional things that it’s doing — like monitoring state elections.

Of course, the Left understands the Biden regime’s usurpation of the Constitution very well — because it’s largely in favor of it — but even leftists have started to issue warnings about the Orwellian drift of our national security agencies.

Notice that America’s national security agencies want to “police” public opinion about the very things that they’re responsible for doing. Naturally, DHS would prefer for Americans to forget that “the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic” involve Dr. Fauci funding the Wuhan Lab of Virology — as they would also prefer for you to forget that the COVID-19 vaccines have no efficacy at all. Who left our soldiers behind in Afghanistan? What is our money buying in Ukraine? This isn’t a misinformation report — it’s a laundry list of America’s illegal covert activities.

What’s the ultimate aim? I continue to maintain that these national security agencies are openly violating the Constitution in order to transform our country into a permanent surveillance state under their control — which is why our election system has to be subverted as well.

That’s why the Biden regime’s sudden plunge into totalitarianism includes allowing Democrat candidates for office like Katie Hobbs to silence their Republican opponents during election campaigns on Twitter.

"Katie Hobbs (@SecretaryHobbs) as a candidate absolutely had an obligation to disclose to the public that she was censoring people," @christina_bobb slams Secretary Hobbs for having her office reach out to Twitter and censor its users.

Why was the communications director for Katie Hobbs allowed to do this? Wasn’t the DOJ — by their own admission — “monitoring” Maricopa County for just this sort of thing? Why is their silence so deafening? Because free speech and fair elections have to be eliminated in the Banana Republic of Biden of course.

Simply put: our government is dispensing with the consent of the governed.

There can be no doubt now: America is no longer a constitutional republic. It’s an empire run by our national security state bureaucracy.

I Need Your Support!

Who’s the only reporter in the world to ask Dr. Fauci why he funded the Wuhan Lab of Virology? Who was the first reporter to confront Jen Psaki about Hunter Biden and his Chinese investments? Who asked President Trump when he would stop the NIH’s funding of the Wuhan Lab in April 2020 &#821

Kevin McCarthy Is The Poster Boy For the GOP's Identity Crisis

On November 9th, Rep. Andy Biggs broke major news on my TV show The Absolute Truth by pointing out Kevin McCarthy’s record of failure as a GOP leader — and by insisting that McCarthy did not automatically deserve to be House Speaker without a debate.

Biggs rightly pointed out that Kevin McCarthy had flip-flopped on important issues like impeaching Joe Biden.

Rep. Biggs was soon joined in his public opposition to Kevin McCarthy by Bob Good (VA), Matt Gaetz (FL) and Ralph Norman (NC) and Matt Rosendale (MT). The full number who oppose McCarthy is said to be close to 20 congressmen.

Matt Gaetz, in particular, has been adamant that Kevin McCarthy has never had the necessary votes to become the next House Speaker.

The real Kevin McCarthy won’t take on Big Tech. He’ll work with them to censor conservatives like @RepBarryMoore. He should not be Speaker.

Kevin McCarthy’s response to these skeptics was to whine that Democrats could pick the House Speaker if they didn’t step back in line: “We have to speak as one voice. We will only be successful if we work together, or we’ll lose individually. This is very fragile — that we are the only stopgap for this Biden administration.”

He added: “And if we don’t do this right, the Democrats can take the majority. If we play games on the floor, the Democrats can end up picking who the Speaker is.”

The problem for Kevin McCarthy is that he’s never tried to be “a stopgap” against the Biden regime. It’s not that he tried and failed — it’s that he doesn’t even pretend very well. He can’t even get the optics right. In fact, on the same day that Kevin McCarthy promised to be the leader of a “stopgap” to the Biden regime, he sat down for dinner with Hunter Biden at the White House.

True story. You simply can’t make this stuff up. This is a headline from The Daily Mail today.

When McCarthy is not bringing his mother to dinner with Hunter Biden, he’s sabotaging Trump-aligned candidates in midterm elections.

Just ask Joe Kent.

McCarthy also backed the same GOP congressmen who voted to impeach President Trump.

If Kevin McCarthy is a Republican, then why did he take money from FTX — the infamous Democrat funding machine pretending to be a crypto exchange?
