The Panny D showed many people's true colors. Governor Gretchen Whitmer was one of those people who was exposed as she was part of the bandwagon of several governors who grossly overstepped their authority by issuing draconian lockdown orders upon their constituents. Whitmer followed the "science" then, and she is following the "science" now. And by "science," they mean political science.
Whitmer signed three proposed energy bills Tuesday, making Michigan a “national leader” on the most strict energy mandates in the nation.

The green energy plan — a package of bills— requires utility providers to transition to “100% clean energy” by the end of 2040. The mandate will force utility companies to generate half of their energy through renewable sources by 2030, 60 percent by 2035, and 100 percent by 2040.
What does 100 percent clean energy even mean? And how exactly will that provide environmental benefits?
I think we all know how harmful a forced transition to "renewable" energy actually is. With such a manufacturing-heavy economy, I think it is safe to assume that Michigan is on the path to failure with this one. But I am no political scientist so I probably don't know as much as the unelected bureaucratic in Michigan that are recommending these decisions.
At least 50 percent of winter death statistics related to cold exposure are from people over 60 years old. Let's just hope these policies don't have a similar effect to the nursing home catastrophe.
"Together, we are protecting our air, our water, and our land by focusing on taking climate change head-on," Whitmer said in an address aired on Lansing TV station WLNS, according to the Washington Examiner. "Today is a huge win for Michigan families, for Michigan businesses, and for future generations of Michiganders."

Whitmer said the bills will lower household utility costs by an average of $145 a year, create 160,000 “good-paying” jobs, and bring nearly $8 billion of federal tax dollars home to the state for clean energy projects.
But how many jobs will it destroy?
However, an analysis from the Mackinac Center for Public Policy found that the new energy mandate will cost residents an extra $2,746 a year while giving them less reliable electricity.
“Michigan ratepayers should know that it’s impossible to achieve net-zero goals on the cheap. Even these amended bills will continue to impose substantial costs on the average Michigan family while achieving little to nothing to actually address the climate change issue politicians claim they want to solve. Estimates show that taking the state of Michigan to net-zero emissions by 2050 would only reduce global temperatures by approximately 1/1000th of a degree Celsius by the year 2100. Meanwhile, people can expect to pay an additional $2,746 in energy costs each year just to experience more blackouts,” a statement from Jason Hayes, director of energy and environmental policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy said.
There is a reason we don't hear about much success when it comes to "green" economies. That is because it inhibits wealth creation and destroys innovation. In Germany, things have gotten so bad since they transferred to a "green" economy that they had to coin a new term called "energy poverty."
Michigan ranks fifth in the nation for manufacturing jobs. It is often referred to as "The Birthplace Of The Assembly Line." But the left destroys everything.
Michigan’s industrial renaissance does not stand a chance when it comes to these new energy mandates.
My prediction is that the cost will not outweigh the "benefit" to the environment. Actually, that is not a prediction. By just looking at Climate Alarmists' prophecies, we know that if the U.S. cutits carbon dioxide emissions by 100 percent, it would make nearly no difference.
Whitmer could not even control an invisible virus they may or may not have given people the sniffles. Do people really think she is going to be able to control the direction of the wind?
