Our puddingheaded POTUS made some off-the-cuff comments about gun rights to the press over the weekend. Why yes, they were dumb, incoherent, and false. But before we get to them, this POTUS makes comments unapproved by the people who control him all the time. They get walked back immediately, and people have to explain what Joey "meant" to say. Turns out Joey hates it when people do that.
Not sure if these comments get walked back. But we'll find out together!
When we left for the weekend, the "common-sense gun reforms" that critics call anti-second amendment gun control being discussed were red-flag laws and increasing the age of being able to buy an "assault rifle" or "assault weapon" to 21. The rub with the latter is that an assault rifle isn't a real thing, and an assault weapon can be any weapon with which one assaults people. For example, POTUS describes the most popular handgun used for self-defense as an assault weapon. Also, he wants to ban them.
