The latest family-friendly drag show exploded on the scenes for the holidays Wednesday night. "Drag Queen Christmas" performed before a sold-out, all-ages crowd (yes Virginia, that means children) in Orlando.
Traditionally, drag shows -- performances where men dress like women and get raunchy -- were for the entertainment of adults in bars. When those adults discovered they could get their fill of kink and raunch AND show off how "tolerant" and "inclusive" they were by subjecting their kids to it, "family-friendly" drag shows became all the rage in 2022! Though critics will tell you it's sick and gross and these parents should be ashamed of themselves.
The star performer was "Screwdolph," who guides Santa's slay with his nipples. To drive the point home to the children in attendance, they changed the words of a popular children's song.
SCREWdolph with your nipples so bright,
Won't you guide my slay tonight?
This video includes captions for those of you who are hearing impaired.
Also at this family-friendly drag performance -- where functioning adults exposed their children to adult entertainment in order to show other functioning adults how inclusive they are -- there was...honestly, I don't know what's going on here.
Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation threatened to pull the business licenses of places that invited minors to witness this --- what criticals call -- "filth." As of this writing, it is unclear if action is being taken.
When you think of it, "Drag Queen Christmas" is no different from the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular. It's just that one focuses on the magic of Christmas. The other focuses on adult males putting flashlights where boobies would be and changing the name of a nursery rhyme to sexualize it.
What's the difference? If you can find one, feel free to explain in the comment section of whatever app brought you here.
