Ukraine Timeline: The Fine Line Between Investigating & 'Fishing'

9/25/2019

Comments

Ukraine is a struggling young democracy in a pressure cooker region of the world. Russia wants to control the nation and it's rich farmland. It's also a strategic area for access into Europe, in Russia's defense strategy. In WW2, it was the first area Nazi Germany took control of, in an effort to defeat Stalin's USSR.
In recent years, every new political regime started out by arresting & imprisoning the former regime for financial corruption and enriching themselves with national assets.
Now the Obama Administration seems to be under the microscope for possibly colluding with some bad actors.
But it's also a tactic being weaponized by the Obama/Clinton Democrat Party effort to discredit & destroy political opponents.
Trump can hardly be blamed for turning the tables & subjecting his political enemies to the same scrutiny he's just been subjected to. Yet the voters will (hopefully) get disgusted if it goes to the point of debasing of our political system to that of a developing democracy in a world full of corruption.
We researched the dates of the events so the citizens can get a better grasp of when this happened. Keep in mind that Joe Biden is a Democrat frontrunner in the 2020 presidential campaign. A political motivation is not a far-fetched theory.

Updated: Oklahoma's Young Republicans Fight Each Other At Splintered State Convention

9/21/2019

Comments

It was a Friday night in Oklahoma. While most of us were at the high school football games or at the fair, the Federation of Young Republicans (18-40 years old) held their state convention to elect new leadership for a 2 year term.  The goal of this institution is to reach out to the next generation's voters with a Republican message and solutions to address the concerns of young citizens about the direction of our nation.
Sadly, the several dozen who registered for this meeting were unsure what direction their organization would go.
I contacted several attendees in both factions to get a sense of what the conflict was all about. It seems the credentials committee could not get their report adopted by those who were registered and wearing official delegate badges. We were told that while waiting for the credentials report the Rules committee sought adoption of an agenda and special convention rules for conduction the business of the convention.  But further research indicates that the permanent bylaws of the Oklahoma YRs are quire clear on how delegate votes and delegations are seated. Two years ago there was an accommodation written into the permanent rules to seat a limited portion of 'at-large' delegates, but their total voting power is limited to 5 delegate votes which could be either divisible by the number of at-large convention participates, or assigned to up to 5 specified individuals. These are Young Republicans who are not a part of a chartered county group. (they may be folks who didn't attend a county convention, or no such convention was held for their county)
But others say that each county which is unorganized should have a 5-vote delegation. And organized clubs are granted an extra 15 delegate votes. We posted the bylaw, below..

[Updates are in Read print]

Friday night the Oklahoma Young Republicans didn't even get the delegates seated before they abruptly shut the lights off and went out to the parking lot to finish the fight over who runs the group.

Health Commissioner Schedules Resignation On Day of Large Patient Protest

9/13/2019

Comments

Oklahoma's Interim Health Commissioner, Tom Bates has steadfastly refused any and all meetings with patients and medical providers concerned about the unworkable new health dept rules on medical marijuana.
So on Thursday afternoon, a group of attorneys representing dispensary operators and hundreds of patients, organized a 'polite protest' outside the state headquarters of the Health Dept. Their request was simply a meeting to discuss a pathway toward implementation of workable reforms of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority. The building security staff refused to even grant the attorneys and patients any access to the names and agency contact information to set up such meetings.
The spokesman for the Oklahoma Dept of Health then refused to identify himself to the 150 visitors when they sought to journal the responses he was giving them while refusing them access to scheduling personnel for the OMMA Director, Adrienne Rollins.

EPIC Appears Ready To Sue Senator For Slander

9/10/2019

Comments

The leadership of Epic Charter Schools have released a statement regarding the crusade narrative of Senator Ron Sharp (R- Shawnee).  In it, they demonstrate a timeline of what they say is clear & deliberate propaganda intended to undermine the integrity of Oklahoma's fastest growing and 3rd largest school district; Epic Charter.
The virtual charter school is one of Oklahoma's most innovative advances in delivery of education to families. It allows students to use technology to attend classes via internet connection. the school started less than 10 years ago and now has around 30,000 students.
Local public school districts have been furious that Epic is running circles around their outdated formats of massive bussing, institutionalizing thousands (even tens of thousands) and creating social engineering agendas to promote transgender, pro-choice, and sexual education programs.
Because Epic students stay at home to learn, they avoid the bullying, peer pressure, and other distractions from positive child development. the families are willing to fore go the free lunches, childcare, and institutional lifestyle. But they have the best professional teachers always ready to help. Epic's teachers earn an average of $65,000 per year in compensation, due to the merit pay and other bonuses for helping students advance.

Senator Ron Sharp has long been a champion of the teachers unions and defends the old 'brick & mortar' districts. He's said to have an online degree in education.

"No politician 'checks off every box" in your list of issues. You have to prioritize and use personal discretion regarding every current and future issue that you can imagine. Then you have to also judge integrity & consistency. A candidate's openness to study the issues & courage to think for themselves. Then you need to review their honesty & work ethic.  I respect any voter's decision, when they've informed themselves and took voting seriously." - David Van Risseghem

SoonerPolitics.org is committed to informing & mobilizing conservative Oklahomans for civic reform & restored liberty. We seeks to utilize the efforts of all cooperative facets of the Conservative movement... Content of the diverse columns are solely at the discretion of the dozens of websites who create the content.   David Van Risseghem  is the founder of this platform.
Sooner Politics News is a platform, not a media site. All our bloggers get their feeds promoted regardless of content. As soon as We suppress or delete even one posting, we become an endorser of whatever We didn't censor..The publisher doesn't (and could not) logically agree with all the content, so we would not expect any rational reader to agree, either. What we do hope, is that readers will think for themselves, and at least be better informed of the issues, events, and values that our citizen journalists work hard to provide for free.. We automate much of the tasks so that our sources' content gets as much exposure as possible. We encourage constructive discussion & debate. The solution is more free speech, not less.
