Sooner Electors Make Their Firm Commitments To Trump

11/28/2016

Picture
With all the national media just itching to find a weakness in the ranks of the 306 Presidential Electors pledged to Donald Trump, Oklahoma's 7 Electors are having none of it. Several of them are now posting to their social media profiles that Trump will get their full and resolute support.

The electors and alternates are expected to meet at the Oklahoma State Capitol on Dec. 19th.

Sunday night I reached out to George Wiland. George is a member of the Tulsa County Election Board, but more importantly, he was nominated by his fellow Republicans to be a Republican Presidential Elector. George had also served as an Elector to the 2000 Presidential race. George is solidly supportive of the Trump/Pence ticket and has been an Oklahoma Republican since the 1980s.
  Rep. Bobby Cleveland of Central Oklahoma posted this message on his Facebook wall;

Canada, Colorado, & Pot

The two extremes of the drug debate are destroying Oklahoma. Not just culturally, but economically. The people of the Sooner state need to disregard the loud noise coming from both ditches, as we navigate out of the dire predicament our state finds herself in.
The prosecutor/law enforcement industry loves the power to go after hippy types with the authority that our 1960s teetotaler voter base gave them. That power only grew over the next six decades. We now have pirates acting as cops and taking people's wallets, cars, and even their homes; using the abusive 'civil asset forfeiture' excuses.
The hippy types have responded in an equally extremist fashion; claiming liberties regardless of the threats posed to public safety and child exploitation. Some of them mask their libertine lifestyles in lofty libertarian quotes.

In reading up on the issue, I found a rather wise dissertation from the comments section of an
8 year old blog post.

Alex Allen: Alt Illusions of Alt Boogeymen

11/27/2016

Comments

"The alt-right is nothing more than a category of memes, consumed seriously by a few neckbeards in basements and enjoyed ironically by a few others.

The alt-right is not an organized ideology, or movement.  It is a label, slapped on to anyone with racist or nationalistic tendencies, only to advance a certain “progressive” political agenda which only flourishes if it has those tendencies to combat.

Racism does still exist.  But we cannot say that it exists politically, or meaningfully in any sense other than the rantings of rednecks; hardly politically powerful.

Trump did not win because of racism.  There was very little that was actually racist about his program, all of the perceived racism as projected by others who were being  little over-dramatic.  No, he won because he seemed to offer solid economic solutions to a country which has not sufficiently recovered.  The “recovery” we have had has not really been much of a recovery in most respects, but rather a normalization: we’ve just become accustomed."

The Alt Right is Nothing.

Super PACs Cutting Ties To Fount Holland & AH Strategies

11/26/2016

Alleged conspirator, Fount Holland, cofounder of AH Strategies.
The Oklahoman is reporting that Republican super PACs are no longer working with Fount Holland, now that he is charged with serious felony conspiracy to help defeat a Republican incumbent using liberal labor union  money.
Several candidates & elected officials may also be quietly preparing to make similar moves, to protect themselves from similar allegations.
The charges draw a narrative of illegal conspiracy to coordinate a candidate's efforts with a 'dark money' group. Joy Hofmeister decided to run as a Republican & seek to oust Republican State Superintendent Janet Barresi. Hofmeister was a political novice from the Jenks School Board. Democrats strongly supported her and gave massive amounts to both her campaign and the conspiring dark money group.
   Here's the Oklahoman's account:

Trump Team Watch: Four Okies

11/26/2016

Comments

As the Transition team enters their 4th week of meetings, the massive staffing project continues to top the media buzz list of speculations.
Of the hundreds of upper level slots in the new administration, four Okies are in consideration for some roles on the Trump executive team.
Rep. Jim Bridenstine  of the 1st district of Oklahoma's congressional delegation is rumored for two specific possible appointments. He was rumored to be considered for NASA Administrator or Secretary of the Air Force. Bridenstine is also a former director of Tulsa's Air & Space Museum. Insiders believe Bridenstine would prefer that duty because space exploration has been a passion of Jim's.
Gov. Fallin met with Trump earlier this week about a possible Interior Secretary role in the Trump cabinet.
Matt Pinnell is Oklahoma's former Republican Party Chairman. He spent the last 3 years working on Reince Priebus' RNC leadership team, as Director Of State Republican Parties. Last spring Pinnell was speculated to be the overwelming favorite of the members of the RNC membership (who officially make the decision by committee vote, but typically defer to the party's President-elect o make the decision).

Dr. Piper Decries Epidemic of Narcissism On Campus

Dr. Everett Piper appeared last night on Fox News’ Special Report with Bret Baier, discussing recent college protests and the idea that the troubles we see on campuses nationwide is a result of the ideas our culture has been teaching our students.

Marven Goodman: Free the OKGOP!

11/20/2016

Comments

I just attended my first Oklahoma Republican Party State Committee Meeting in OKC. As an invited guest I was a bit guarded at first but after I notice we were sitting in a group with quite a few Liberty Republicans I began to relax a bit. The meeting was held at a local church and there was no charge to the Party for using the venue which is in the tradition of being thrifty with other people’s money, it’s a Republican thing. It was interesting that this church allowed handguns so those licensed by the state could carry while attending, including the Pastor who openly carried. All in all it was a good location to conduct a political event attended by well over 100 people.

The first part of the meeting was the typical business meeting with reports & remarks from the chair, vice chair, national committeewoman, national committeeman, treasures report, and then the chair again to discuss other topics; but more on that later.

I found the treasurers report and the discussion that followed to be one of the more interesting of the business meeting topics. It seems the OKGOP has been literally living off credit cards and accumulating lots and lots of unsecured debt over the past years. This is not a Republican thing; we are supposed to live within our means, balanced budget and all.

School Admins Keeping Classroom Teachers Hungry

11/19/2016

Comments

Picture
Public School Administrators will NOT ALLOW teachers to be satisfied. They need them to stay hungry so they'll keep picketing the capitol and get the administrators more money.
The average pay of Oklahoma teachers is about $30/hr for the 180 days that they teach (assuming they work 8 hours per day). Not bad for only working the day shift when the weather is agreeable and it's not some holiday...
Now if we're going to point out underpaid teachers, let's look at the dedicated educators at our church schools where families pay about 60 cents on the dollar (compared to govt. funded schools). Schools like Bishop Kelley, Lincoln Christian, Cascia Hall, and Wright Christian Academy. Somehow the privately funded schools find a way to keep administrative costs reasonable and academics high.
Oklahoma Watch just released a great spreadsheet on Oklahoma Teacher pay. Yet it only tells part of the story. No other regional state pays so much into teacher retirement benefits.

Opinion: Liberal Bigots Spread Trump-phobia

11/19/2016

Comments

Picture
Last night vp-elect, Mike Pence, decided to enjoy a night out on the town, while in NYC. But the broadway cast of Hamilton decided to unload their phobic hatred, rather than demonstrating the wonderful diversity of the proud city.

At the close of the performance, they all stood downstage while their star, Victor Dixon; spewed his bigoted hates and fears of anything not far left liberal.

"We are alarmed and anxious that you will not protect us, our planet, and our parents..."
Victor Dixon has parlayed his staring role into a platform for his various east coast liberal rants.  But even the shows producers are a part of the effort. White actors are banned from auditioning for roles in the production, according to Fox News.

Hillary Clinton spreads this same bigotry in her Deplorables speech.
Her dark money teams openly invited, and even paid people to disrupt campaign rallies. After the election, they continue to organize bigoted mobs to disrupt cities with their whining fears and torrents of hissy fits.

The fake Cherokee from Oklahoma, Elizabeth Warren; is a prime lecturer for the alt-left bigots. This is not new or novel for the east coast left. They are long known for their bigotry of the rural white segment of the US.
Picture
Picture

The simple fact is that they fear conservative leaders in the same ignorance that some southern whites feared an empowered black community 150 years ago. Neither Hillary Clinton nor Barack Obama will say a word for social order and tolerance. Obama openly encouraged the phobic hysteria this week.

In 2008, The Philadelphia organization of the "New Black Panthers" stationed armed sentries outside of neighborhood voting stations.
The FBI had vigorously investigated the group and charged them with voter harassment, but when the members were set to plead guilty, Attorney General, Eric Holder, of the Obama Administration, dropped all charges and left the crime unpunished because the defendants were black; according to
Fox News sources.

7 Year-old Boy Disowned By Mother, For Liking Trump

A mother of a 7 year old recorded herself kicking her sobbing child out of the home and chasing him down the street for casting a Trump vote in the elementary school mock election.  We must warn you that the video is extremely traumatizing. But it is beyond comprehension for most of us, to feel how the young boy or his little brother must have felt at the time.

Fortunately the boy is in the custody of the county child services and the mother faces serious consequences for her hideous tormenting of the boy.
NBC, perhaps the most openly bigoted network; mocks and derides rural white America on a regular basis. Their Saturday Night Live cast used to have a regular skit called America Undercover: Appalachian Emergency Room where mostly white idiots would seek medical attention for the most ignorant and stupid situations.
The most pathetically bigoted expressions come from the production team who still refer to the characters with the web descriptions like; "white trash".
Is there a socially-acceptible description of "black trash"? Or "brown trash", "red trash", or "yellow trash"?

Tori Sanders: Hate Didn't Elect Trump, People did.

11/18/2016

Comments

Picture
Journalists are now reporting that Trump won because rural America voted for him in droves. I see a lot of journalists reporting about the what, the who, and the how of this election, but not many are tackling the why.

I do not at all feel qualified enough to discuss the why of this, but I don’t see anybody bringing up the astounding poverty found in rural America and that the desperation found in these areas is what prompted the rise of Donald Trump. Perhaps this will inspire more intelligent people than I to look into this more deeply.

Ted King: Counter Culture Hissy Fits

11/18/2016

Picture
Today, I picked up the entertainment tabloid The Voice which took the place of Urban Tulsa after UT folded some years ago.  The Voice is a publication of Langdon Publishing who  publish Tulsa [Rich] People magazine.   It is a magazine for, by, and about the elite of Tulsa.  While it is called Tulsa People the Tulsa people who live east of Harvard, north of Admiral, and west of the Arkansas River are never seen in its pages.  The Voice, is a publication for, by, and about millennial snowflakes.

This issue of The Voice was full of lamentations about the election of Donald Trump.   Barry Friedman, who never seemed to like it here much, was writing about how backward and awful the majority of Oklahoma voters were in picking Trump and what an awful place Oklahoma is.  Several years ago I read Barry's autobiography about his life as a stand up comedian.  Hey Barry, you are from New York -move back home!  That state has lots of progressives (liberals) like yourself, and they are in charge!  Go ahead, pay two to three times what you pay here – for everything!  Frankly Barry, you're a bore.

Picture
I voted for Gary Johnson for President.  He was not my ideal candidate, but I think he was the most qualified having been a reasonably, successful two-term governor of New Mexico.  And anyone who can convince folks twice to let him live in a mansion in Santa Fe , rent free, must be pretty clever.   Since we have an electoral college system, and therefore 50 state elections, I could vote my conscience.   If you voted for Trump and don't want to read any further let me leave you with this – I'm not here for you to agree with everything I write.  I am a truth teller and therefore an equal opportunity offender.  Having written that, I am relieved Hillary will not be president and am prepared to support this new president even though I have misgivings about him.

Dr. Everett Piper: 'This Is What You Get'

11/15/2016

Comments

Dr. Everett Piper, President of Oklahoma Wesleyan University,  was asked to explain the Millennial Generation’s cry for “safe spaces,” their demands for “trigger warnings,” their repudiation of “micro-aggressions,” and now even their insistence that the results of this country’s presidential election be reversed, because they, our privileged progeny, don’t like it.
Picture
" My response in brief: Why would you expect anything different?

This is what you get when you send your kids off to colleges and universities that teach politically correct pablum rather than the time-tested truths of a free people and civil society. This is what you get when you entrust your sons and daughters to sit under the tutelage of faculty who proudly pan a Judeo-Christian ethic and praise its antithesis. This is what you get after years of teaching our next generation “it doesn’t matter what you believe as long as it works for you.” This is what you get when you tell our youth that there is a “moral equivalency” between America and its enemies, and imply our nation is bad and the rest of the world is right to hate us.

This is what you get after years of instructing our students to laugh at those who warn of the loss of individual freedom and the rise of government largesse. This is what you get after instructing an entire generation that Marxism has its merits and that liberation theology is the only “good religion,” that socialism is better than free enterprise and that capitalism is the cause of crime. This is what you get when you foment class resentment and racial animus. This is what you get when you diminish excellence while extolling entitlement.

Picture

This is what you get when you trust your sons and daughters to professors who tell them their pastors and priests are stupid and that it’s more important to learn how to use a condom than it is to obey God’s commandments. This is what you get when you spend tens of thousands of dollars a year to enroll your kids in institutions that vaunt moral nihilism while vilifying their parents’ morals."

Gov. Fallin Presses For More Criminal Justice Reforms

Gov. Mary Fallin said Friday she plans to move forward with criminal justice reform after voters approved a state question that will reduce the penalties for some violent crimes.

"The people of Oklahoma have decided that we can no longer afford to fill our prisons with individuals suffering from addiction; that strategy has been far too costly in dollars and in lives,”

Fallin said in a press release. “This historic vote reflects a fundamental change in the way our state understands and treats drug addiction, a disease that has destroyed too many of our families.

House Republicans Campaign For Leadership Posts

11/14/2016

Comments

Picture
Wednesday morning the newly elected members of the House of Representatives will meet to begin their next term in the next legislative body. It would be instructive for engaged citizens to familiarize themselves with the House Rules.
Among the orders of business are leadership nominations for each party. For this process, the members will enter into caucus meetings.
Last Spring John Bennett competed for the post of Speaker, but Charles McCall prevailed. Many old faces have left office and the new House legislative body will have dozens of new faces.

The Wednesday voting is not usually public record, but the details usually slip out and folks usually get some indication of who voted for whom. Constituents are CERTAINLY within their rights to ask their Representatives how they voted. Your elected official serves you and votes on your behalf. You are free to withhold future support from your representative if he refuses to be accountable to you.

Is Matt Pinnell The Next RNC Chair?

11/14/2016

Comments

Matt Pinnell, the young mastermind of party strategy, leadership, and message marketing.
The former ORU student who got inspired by reading Michael Bates' 'Batesline' blog.
The unifier who makes party structures functional and finds ways to bring inclusion among factions who have lost trust with each other....
This man is at a point of prominence and preparation for perhaps the biggest calling of his life.
Media outlets in Washington and around the nation are loudly rumoring that he is on a short list for replacing Reince Priebus as the RNC Chairman.

For the past couple years, Pinnell has been the RNC's point man on state party issues and structure. He has gained the trust of so many state chairmen because of his commitment to make them successful in their duties.

Pinnell has his detractors here in Oklahoma. The 2012 Ron Paul campaign walked out of the 2012 convention at the end and held their own state convention in the parking lot.
