2016: Apathy Election, 48th In Participation

  In voter participation percentage, the presidential election of 2016 was actually the lowest in recorded US History.

  Of the popular elections whereby the common citizens voted regarding the office of presidency, the 2016 numbers end up 49th out of 49.

  The highest percentage turnout happened to be 1876,and the election during our nation's centennial. During that year; despite the massive inconveniences of the expanding nation and high immigration, voters very faithfully engaged in voter participation.
