Inhofe and a friend were flying in 2 planes when a weather condition caused them to have to land. A deer in the runway caused Inhofe to veer off, resulting in undetermined damage to the plane. Inhofe has had a colorful history as a pilot.  The Washington Post lampooned Senator Inhofe for the 2011 airport incident where he was reprimanded for endangering a grounds crew. One pilot wrote a scathing report of Inhofe's behavior. | In 1999, Inhofe was again at the Ketchum airport, taking off to join President Bill Clinton in OKC, when his prop flew off. In that incident, 17 years ago, Inhofe made a masterful landing and escaped unscathed.
