Congressional candidate Kevin Hern is now receiving the threatened public reproof of the former US Congressman, Jim Bridenstine. Hern has been selectively using Bridenstine's image to imply that the two are united allies and that Hern somehow has Bridenstine's support.
Today, Jim Bridenstine decided that he needs to issue the public statement that he has previously had to threaten he would make, when people sought to exploit him.* Here's what he published.

Tulsa morning talk radio host, Pat Campbell was first to break this story, early this morning. Campbell told radio listeners that he spoke with the former congressman and now the administrator of NASA.
Bridenstine declined to go on-air and emphasized that his official capacity is now in a 'non-partisan' role, as a government agency head. Bridenstine has made no endorsement in the race to replace him. According to Candidate Nick Mahoney's campaign, Bridenstine has previously told Kevin McDugle (state legislator from Wagoner County) to stop claiming a Bridenstine endorsement. McDugle may have had Bridenstine's support in the past, but since being elected 17 months ago, McDugle has abandoned his wife for another woman and compiled a very liberal score on several indices which monitor the legislators. The McDugle situation was handled quietly, and Bridenstine only had to say he would release a public statement if he had to. Evidently McDugle relented in order to avoid the terrible publicity. |
UPDATE: Club For Growth is now responding to this development, as well. they are locked in a heated dispute with Hern over his past financial support going to liberal lawmakers.
