Rep. Leslie Osborn declared a civil war on her conservative colleagues in the House Republican Caucus. The gauntlet was thrown during floor debate on HB 1033. It was the largest single tax package in state history. Anyone who didn't vote like Osborn was declared a hater of children, schools, teachers, and old people.
Never mind that Osborn grossly violated House rules of decorum. The Speaker stayed silent and the presiding officer never picked up his gavel. The lack of leadership that afternoon of Feb. 12th set perhaps an all-time low in the legacy of the Republican era. Osborn had the backing of her crony capitalist chamber of commerce. They stand to gain the most in state contracts and pork spending. Now those tall-building operatives are launching a nasty campaign of lies and distortions on the very conservative members that Osborn is identifying. This week a shadowy PAC named OK United is sending out posters, cards, and social media attacks which implicate that Rep. Tess Teague of Midwest City is some sort of rabid environmentalist and seeking to raise taxes on consumers' energy usage. Teague has been voting against increased taxes on energy while Osborn supports increasing taxes on motor fuel and crude oil. On Tuesday evening, the Eastern Oklahoma County Conservative Republican Women will be hearing from Rep. Teague. These men in tall buildings who launch shadowy and cowardly smear campaigns on the integrity of conservative women will be met with a battle they do not want to bring on. |
If they thought that Common Core was a brutal battle for progressivism... If they thought that forced vaccination bills were "a hill they don't want to die on",.. They will find that the convictions of Oklahoma's Conservative women are not something to stir the wrath of.
