| For over 150 years, machine guns have been manufactured around the world. So why is it that this week we have this sudden concern that the gun which protects the nations, is somehow intrinsically evil? Why is it that we allow a statist tyranny to replace our 2nd amendment? The answer could be found in the nearest mirror. The more that we obfuscate our own responsibility for self protection, the more that we insist that our state forbids our neighbors from defending themselves. Essentially, we have a growing majority of people who don't want to bear arms, and they want you and me to also be forbidden to. They think it somehow establishes fairness. But in reality it leads to a police state where "peace officers" become less peaceful and innocent civilians get shot at routine traffic stops where no felony probable cause was ever a component. ISIS is already claiming responsibility for the Vegas festival massacre, saying that the lone gunman converted to Islam earlier this year. Leftists in the US are blaming the gun for tempting the gunman. Others are wanting all diagnosed mentally ill people quarantined indefinitely.
