Last night President @RealDonaldTrump, the most followed and prolific Twitter, was unceremoniously banned from the platform because he disagreed with the political views of the founder & CEO of Twitter. Mark Zuckerberg followed suit and banned Trump from Facebook 'indefinitely'. Gab.com immediately reached out to the president with commitments to strengthen the capacity of the upstart social media platform, to handle more expected web traffic. By 11am today, Gab was completely overwhelmed and browsers could not load the pages. Unlike Twitter, and it's free speech alternative, Parler; Gab also has group forums and organizational pages. All these free speech alternatives have a ways to go, before they develop the full set of features, automations, and interactivity that the established platforms have. SoonerPolitics has a sponsored group page on Gab, for political discussion and Oklahoma issues. |
