Conservative Candidate for Tribal Chief, David Walkingstick went live Friday night to alert the tribal citizens of what he sees as collusion by the current chief and Attorney General, to fix the election for their preferred successor.
Here's the transcript of his message...

Folks, there should be no place for these types of political games in our Cherokee Nation. I am asking you to stand against the corruption of this administration and demand a fair hearing next Friday, May 17th by calling the Cherokee Nation Election Commission at (918) 458-5899 and requesting that they require Todd Hembree to step down from his witch hunt investigation against my campaign.
My opponents are not afraid of me, they are afraid that the Cherokee people will have their voice heard loud and clear on June 1st when you go to the polls and exercise your right to vote against their corrupt regime. We can only create a more transparent, accountable Cherokee Nation if we all work together to put a stop to the rampant corruption in our tribe. Wado. |
Editor's note:
I'm hardly the proper authority to be weighing in on a tribal election or any ethnic matter in which I'm neither a citizen nor heir. But I do want to add some background about a man whom I knew as a very young boy. David was an exceptional person who lived a few doors from me, back in the mid 80s. His family worked hard and lived honestly. David overcame a lot of adversity and was not born into privilege. His work ethic opened doors at every step in his life. His sincere manner and humble service to everyone are trademarks of who he is. He is today, just as honest as he was the day I met him and his family, 35 years ago. Cherokees will decide if he is a worthy chief, but I'll always consider him a man of integrity. A true Oklahoma conservative. |
