How Politicians Exploit Issues For Political Gain

5/31/2020

Mpls Democrats have had every opportunity to fix bigotry in city govt.

To no one's surprise, a big leftist American city has some bigots in power. It's not like those bigots were already there when the Democrats took over. Mpls has always been leftist & very Democrat.
The Minnesota DFL (Democrat Farmer-Labor) party has some 'splain'n to do.  The unionized police force is furious at the mayor's office. They've been fighting for years over policies which have 'handcuffed' the cops and let criminals of certain ethnicities 'skate'.
When your arrest quota if full up on one ethnicity, how do you protect a neighborhood from one of their own who's gone bad? And do you get in trouble for using the term 'gone bad'?
The political correctness is run amuck. Group-think owns the culture and the penalties for dissent are merciless.
George Floyd & his girlfriend needed a truly integrated community. Mpls failed to be that city, for them.

George Floyd & Courtney Ross are now separated by his death at the hands of Mpls police.

I've known Minnesota quite well. I've known this part of Minneapolis very well. I was a pastor & school teacher in Precinct 3.  I grew up in DFL politics. I have relatives in positions of political appointment. Honest partisan activists at both ends of the political spectrum know that exploiting issues for political gain is a well-crafted art.
My leftist cousin and I were walking through the cemetery just after laying my father to rest. He was a congressional staffer. He asked me when I was going to return to the Democrat party?
I said; "Not as long as they keep defending the killing of unborn babies."
He immediately responded; "Dave, the Republicans will never allow Abortion to end. they raise too much money off of it and get elected because of it."
I stopped dead in my tracks. He stopped with me and we looked each other in the eye.. "I'm so disgusted" I said, "Because I know you're right about that."

But we don't know if Police Officer Derek Chauvin only abuses certain ethnicities.  The prevalent problem of cops is that they abuse the 'poor & unimportant' of every segment of society.
Just as there exists a 'god complex' in the medical community; some cops love the power that their uniform gives them. Some sick minds find pleasure in exploiting that power.
If we're really going to fix the bigger & more systemic problem, all the poor and disconnected are going to have to band together. But they will face a state prosecutor's network who are perhaps equally infected with this bias toward power & disconnected people. Don't wait for politicians to champion the cause, because the poor don't donate enough money to make it worth their while.
In the same way, Democrats will never allow racism to end. It's too lucrative for them. But this time they can't point the finger at Rural Georgia, or Dallas.  The murder of George Floyd happened in a city that Democrats have tightly controlled for the past century.
  • US Senator, Amy Klobuchar, was the local D.A. when several incidences were reported, regarding the brutality of Officer Derek Chauvin. She tended to give him a pass on most of them, thus turning her back on the citizens who needed her to protect them from the abusive cops.
  • Mayor Jacob Frey has kept in place several quotas and set asides which put caps on how much of the city's police resources can be used for cleaning up crime in certain ethnic communities. He has broadly accused the police of many things, yet never commissioned the city with the resources to clean up the police dept. Oh, no doubt, the police union is also complicit with protecting bad cops from discipline. But citizens expect a mayor to do what he campaigned to do. I fully expect Mayor Jacob Frey to run for re-election on  another promise to do what he should have already begun.
  • A.G. Keith Ellison is the former congressman from Mpls.  He's known of the law enforcement hostilities with some ethnicities. He helped stoke them when he needed the issue for his own political advancement. Yet the problem still is not cleaned up, nor does a plan exist for starting to clean it up.
  • Rep. Ilhan Omar loves the microphone. All colors, sizes, & shapes of microphones. She stokes racial disharmony daily. She even throws in religiously bigoted statements from time to time.  As a result, the ethnic minority communities are filled with more hatred, segregation, and vitriol than any time in the past 40 years.  South Mpls. has been a place of interracial integration for several decades. But the 'race-baiting poverty pimps' (as former Rep. J.C. Watts used to call them) have discovered that the issue is too valuable for political ascendency, so it has to remain alive.
Now, before my Republican and right-leaning friends get too self righteous; I have to say that the GOP has their own issues which they will never allow to be fixed.  Republican presidents have appointed judges and bureaucrats who have kept the problems of denied constitutional liberties in play.  Bush41 celebrated openly that he "has no idea how Justice Souer will rule on a right to life for the unborn baby. Justices O'Conner, Roberts and Kennedy were (and are) similar disappointments by Republican presidents whose duty is to know a justice's constitutional fitness before appointing them.
Bigots are still around, and they find their way into all political organizations & movements.  It's naive to assume otherwise. Their bigotry attaches itself to many cultural & ethnic matters. And even religion, itself.  By denying it's existence, we allow it to incubate into a Mpls race riot.

"No politician 'checks off every box" in your list of issues. You have to prioritize and use personal discretion regarding every current and future issue that you can imagine. Then you have to also judge integrity & consistency. A candidate's openness to study the issues & courage to think for themselves. Then you need to review their honesty & work ethic.  I respect any voter's decision, when they've informed themselves and took voting seriously." - David Van Risseghem

SoonerPolitics.org is committed to informing & mobilizing conservative Oklahomans for civic reform & restored liberty. We seeks to utilize the efforts of all cooperative facets of the Conservative movement... Content of the diverse columns are solely at the discretion of the dozens of websites who create the content.   David Van Risseghem  is the founder of this platform.
Sooner Politics News is a platform, not a media site. All our bloggers get their feeds promoted regardless of content. As soon as We suppress or delete even one posting, we become an endorser of whatever We didn't censor..The publisher doesn't (and could not) logically agree with all the content, so we would not expect any rational reader to agree, either. What we do hope, is that readers will think for themselves, and at least be better informed of the issues, events, and values that our citizen journalists work hard to provide for free.. We automate much of the tasks so that our sources' content gets as much exposure as possible. We encourage constructive discussion & debate. The solution is more free speech, not less.
