Journalists from several outlets, including the Daily Oklahoman, have sought to interview the more recent candidate in the Oklahoma governor's race. Mick Cornett, whose careers include decades of anchoring local news programs, has so far refused a 'sit down' interview about his attempt to become the next governor.
One slight interview was snagged at the Oklahoma City Fair, where a novice student of the American Broadcasting school did speak for a few seconds with Cornett, but that clip is not yet available to our researchers. It seems Cornett wants to either completely control the narrative and content, or he will completely rely on highly produced campaign videos. Cornett is the image master. He highly scripts each studio piece and demands his influence over the product that gets published. As for the other 11 major candidates; there has been extensive media coverage. We are including some interviews of each of them for Oklahoma voters to familiarize themselves with each candidate. We commend the 11 candidates who are subjecting themselves to journalistic scrutiny. We believe that ideas matter, and all candidates should be heavily vetted through the various political and news outlets. |
Various media outlets have provided links to the candidate interviews. Press the preset buttons on the radio to the left, to go to an interview with that candidate.
When Mick Cornett subjects himself and his candidacy to an objective and independent media outlet, we'll add that link to this archive. |
