Within hours of a young teen's 2019 field trip to the nation's capitol, he was scolded by the leftist global media cabal, the Democrat party, His own Catholic school leaders, The national leaders of March For Life, and a Tulsa Talk Radio Host.
He was subjected to racist & defamatory insults on the national mall by a black hebrew racist group. But the North American Indian activists wanted some of the attention, so Nathan Phillips got in Nick's face while swinging a drumstick against a drum & chanting some sounds we haven't been given the translation of. He was the subject of national vilifying for days, based on highly edited clips from a raw video which ultimately vindicated and extolled his great poise. Sacrifice the kid, for the convenience of the adults?
His Covington Catholic School went into damage control by 'throwing Nick under the bus' within a few hours. Days later they apologized to the boy and restated their position
March For Life did essentially the same thing. These are the so-called leaders that should not be trusted without a real system of accountability. |

When money gets involved in our activism or worship, therein lies a danger for mammon to corrupt true devotion. Political endeavors are much the same. But when we look to others to protect children, we must hold them to account for the harm they do, especially when it is self-serving actions done at a child's expense. Remember, that's what the battle over abortion is all about.
When the March for Life was over, the students were given some free time to see the monuments and other attractions on the National Mall. By all accounts, Nick and his classmates were exemplary. Nick stopped by a vendor's souvenir stand and bought a MAGA hat. The claims that he brought the hat to the march are completely false, unsourced, and reckless. The video shows Nick, with a pure heart and void of white guilt, standing in place while an older man violates his personal space. Nick had the poise to refrain from responding in kind to the older man. That man Nathan Phillips then went on a global media tour to make up a narrative of victimhood at the hands of young bullying white kids. A year later, Nick is widely regarded as a fully vindicated young man with a trust fund which will continue to grow. The several lawsuits his parents initiated for him, are starting to resolve. CNN just settled and while we don't know how much they are paying, we can assume Nick isn't relying on PAL grants for his college tuition. But I commend his parents for providing his protection even when the church, school, and national political action committee abandoned him without so much as an investigation. Nick is still promoting the March For Life. He's demonstrating forgiveness. That's good. I just don't know how much he still trusts some of the so-called leaders on 'our side'. |
It's one thing to be bullied by a global media and the raging malcontents of our society. But Bullying kills, indirectly. And when our own side turns on us, that despair can be hideous and the will to live may be tested.
Nathan Phillips doesn't want to talk about it. March For Life took down their press statements. Covington Catholic School wishes they had a 'do-over'. These are times when I pray that the next generation will be more virtuous than my own.
