With half the Republicans in the governor race expressing support for Oklahoma Taxpayers Unite! (OTU), several other candidates are also announcing intention to campaign and serve under the principles of the OTU platform. | This weekend three Libertarian candidates also signed a pledge at their OKLP convention. OTU intends to certify and publish the pledges before next week's filing days for the June & November election races. Former US Senator, Tom Coburn joined the rest of the OTU organizers last Wednesday at the capitol for a press briefing. Dr. Coburn is working out the details of a series of rallies around Oklahoma with the candidates pledged to OTU's platform of 7 principles. Grassroots organizers are setting up local meetings and gaining volunteers. Tomorrow night the Oklahoma City supporters are invited to hear from Brooke McGowan of OTU, at the Eastern Oklahoma County Republican Womens meeting. (local leadership says; "yes, men will also be there"). McGowan says the meeting will be at Bandana Red's Grill in choctaw, OK, in the southeast section of Oklahoma County. the event starts at 6pm. Rep. Steve Russell will also present his Washington report at the meeting. |
