Fifteen years ago, a prominent Tulsa prep school had a devastating sex scandal. The church who ran the school didn't handle it correctly. The school & church diminished since then. The school is completely closed now. the Church is desperate to sell all their campus and find a chaeper place to gather the much smaller congregation.
We often assume that male heterosexuals are the most likely perpetrators of sexual molestations. This prejudice can be as harmful as blind trust. The reality is that any person with special access to children, can also be harmful or helpful. So vigilance and honest family communication is essential to parenting in this culture.
This week, while visiting with family over the holidays, I read a sad story of another homosexual sex ring that a gay couple had developed in Minnesota. One boy's mental health crisis led to the exposure of a school teacher who drugged boys and let his gay lover join him in sexual exploits of the boys.
The two gay men fled when police closed in. they committed suicide while on the run, in rural Washington state. Some claimed that the denial of the "right" to homosexual marriage is the cause of sexual violence. That if a homosexual could find the stability of a monogamous institution of marriage, they would no longer see this level of homosexual molestation. We are still waiting for that 'reality' to be established.
Here's a snippit from the story that ran in the Minneapolis StarTribune, on December 29th. Breitbart news is also covering the matter.
In Broken Arrow, a female coach recently went to prison for engaging is sexual acts with female students. But the criminal sentence for this crime was remarkably short. Shorter than men typically get for the same offense. It's commonly even shorter when female teachers engage in heterosexual molestations of boys.
What we, as a society, are saying is that molesting boys isn't as egregious as molesting girls. That is a form of bigotry that must end. We need to see our sons as just as worthy of protection as our daughters. We need to expect women in society to be just as accountable for their actions as are the men.
Minnesota is currently debating the suspension of 10 college football players for having group sex with a woman. The coach said the act(caught on video) was a violation of team conduct standards. Evidently, the coach claims the authority to set sexual standards at the public university. If it was a gay orgy among the team members, would they be suspended for that? Most think they would not have. Several additional team members have mounted a protest and refused to participate in the bowl game.
